My Worst Fear-The BIG being relevant again
I had no doubt that Urban Meyer was going to win at Ohio State.

Funny thing is, in the old format, we would have seen Bama vs Oregon in the BCS Championship game.

I hate the BIG, but I have always been impressed with Urban.

urban, Franklin, and Harbaugh are going to give the sec a run for their money. Urban has already been taking recruits from southern states.

Would have been Bama v. Florida State under the old system.

I tend to agree. The human factor would have never allowed Oregon or Ohio State into the BCS Championship over an undefeated Florida State.

No tend to it. No way the sole undefeated team from a BCS conference gets left out of the National Championship Game under the old system. Real interesting thing is if Alabama won, and Oregon and Ohio State ended up playing in another BCS bowl, presumably Ohio State would have won as evidenced by last night, and they would have a very good gripe that they should be ranked ahead of Alabama after all the bowls were played.

The CFP seemed to really work this year. Going forward, the only gripe will be the teams that are 5th and 6th place

Eventually they'll go to 8 and you'll get griping about which of the G5 teams should get in and who the 2 at larges ought to be.

I firmly believe we'll end up with 4 16 team mega-conferences that will break away from the NCAA and establish their own league, with the conference titles being the starting 8 teams to the playoff

It just makes one wonder how many potential national champs were actually excluded from the two-team BCS Title Game setup.

Your argument is a contradiction, TC. An 8-team playoff would, in all likelihood, make twice as much money as the current 4-team playoff. You are correct, however: it is about they money. And that's why we will see an 8-team playoff in the very near future.

ESPN would like to boil it down to (4) 10-school conferences, but it's not that easy to leave out so many deserving schools. I think Jackie Sherrill was right when he predicted (5) 14-team conferences.

No CCG money the Conference gets to keep it among Conference Members and not share that....Not the same at all...8 team means 16 games and interupts with classes....Again will not be 8 for awhile if ever....NOt anytime soon anyway....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Lol, Urban is the only one giving anyone a run for their money and he's out numbered down here in the south.

He could be one of the best coaches in decades due just the pure fact that he just won a national championship at a yankee school.

Doesn't happen much.

^ It's very refreshing to be done with that scenario....Just listening to the prognosticators ramble on & on for weeks after College fooseball was done, was the most exhausting 2-3 weeks ever!!Yay for the BCS!!!!! 01-ncaabbs

That was my point but I goofed up by leaving out FSU, I guess Oregon beat them so bad I forgot about them

Conferences go up and down with runs for a few years. The B1G has seen stretches in the past where it was better than the SEC.
