Checked with Forbes. According to them Johns owns .50% of Protectives Stock worth about $12 million.

That is very little. Why was I thinking he was already worth close to 1B ?

Phil I'd love for someone to check my work. I these statements may be the kind of thing that you have to add zeros.

I don't believe Johns makes a ton of money at Protective Life, however he does have quite a bit of power there.

If it is like the CEO at my company it would be very hard to have him removed there.

Protective Life is no where near the money maker of Liberty National who, like them, moved OTM years ago from downtown (PL was on 1st Ave North and LN was on 3rd Ave and 20th Street South). PL just built a new building while LN (owned by Frank Samford) built Liberty Park on I-459 while financing the move of Howard College from East Lake to Homewood where they renamed it in his honor.

According to Forbes, Mrs. Harbert is Alabama's only billionaire.
