I agree 21, it is hard to watch the girls play hard with no real plan from the head coach. In way over her head. If she is coach next year I will not be renewing my season tickets

Smh. I just hope Wood makes the decision sooner than later.

The Lady Monarchs beat FIU 80-67 behind Jennie Simm's 45 points.

i know we've had questionable games and no this isn't what we're accustomed to, but they're not having a horrible year.

Ironically tonight's game took place one week after longtime FIU coach Cindy Russo resigned due to health reasons. Cindy was the one of first female basketball scholarship athletes ever at ODU, had a fine b. ball career for the Lady Monarchs in the mid-70's. The interim coach for FIU is former ODU great Inge Nissan.

We just beat a 3-15 (0-7) team. Not the best game to say that we aren't having a horrible year. We haven't beaten anyone we shouldn't beat and we've lost to teams we shouldn't have.

Well...dang.

I have this odd "Why aren't (weren't) they here for coaching" thought.

Jennie Simms is the real deal, no doubt. A couple of pieces around her and we might have something. Anyone know if Trey or Aaron have a sister? How would Deion look in a dress? Fortunately, she is just a sophomore.

Stith has a daughter, there's some interest on both sides. Lets get the whole gang here.

And this year that should have been Kelly with her 16.3 ppg and 9.0 rpg with the Gophers would have been an awesome front court for the LM. Problem is...how long will Simms stay? One year for sure, two years if we are lucky. And since most transfers have to red shirt...that means we need to get just the right blend of freshmen or find a really good juco player if it's just next season. Not always easy...

With that said, with our current roster we need to find that one player to step up on offense when Simms can't bring it. After the Middle Tenn St loss, you could hear the frustration in Karen's voice. Which is note able because she rarely goes negative in her interviews....

Bria Stith is now a 6' 0 junior at Maury and Karen offered her last August. I also read somewhere that she and her sophomore sister, Brooke, also have offers from Clemson.

RE: State of WBB after Marshall loss.
Thank you Ziggy. I'll try not to let you down.

Give the ladies some credit! While you can say FIU was the Jennie Simms show, FAU was a great team effort. 4 players scoring in double digits, plus Q with 9 points. Simms and Destiny Young had double doubles. The 55 team rebounds was our highest total in a single game all season long.

But what I loved was the effort from the FT line. In the first game the team shot 22-for-26 (granted all but one FT came from two players) and in the second game 14-for-17. 36-for-43 or 83.7%. That is fantastic for a team that was shooting barely above 60% (60.8) before the Florida road trip!

I have been really pleased with Destinee Young's development this year. She has obviously, worked hard over the off season. If she continues to work that hard over this off season, I think she can be special.
