Did you forget that Notre Dame gets a SEC West bowl victory?

That trophy went to the refs 03-wink

I recorded the game and watched it several times since Tuesday.

I don't think that the holder got in. Either way it was called on the field, I don't think that there was enough evidence to overturn the call.

The refs didn't allow ND 31 points and 449 yards, including 263 yards on the ground.

The refs didn't allow ND to drive for game winning FG by gaining 71 yards and taking the last 5:31 of the game off the clock.

The refs didn't allow a redshirt freshman making his first start at QB for ND gain 96 yards rushing on 22 attempts, etc...etc.. He committed zero turnovers in his first start in a bowl against an SEC West team with the claimed #1 defense in the SEC.

The refs didn't cause ND to revamp its offense from pass happy to run heavy during bowl prep, recover from injuries and the negative effects four straight losses and insert a new starting QB with no experience to hang with and push LSU around on the LOS.

The refs didn't allow ND to possess the ball for 37:00 to LSU's 23:00.

Brian Kelly did one hell of a coaching job since the Southern Cal game last month.

You're a ND fan, I wouldn't expect you to notice it. It was all too clear that the ball crossed the plane before he pulled it back in, and the camera clearly shows his knee hit the ground after he pulled the ball back in.

Having said that, you're absolutely right. ND played a very hard fought game. Had LSU put the game out of reach for the Irish, that missed call wouldn't have made a difference. As fas as the stats you mentioned, both teams were damn near neck and neck.

I flipped on Paul Finebaum's show for a couple of minutes during the games and enjoyed all the SEC/Bama fans whining about the B1G/OSU fans raging on the SEC.

Today's word is "schadenfreude." Can you say "schadenfreude" boys and girls?

Jesse Palmer told me on ESPN that the SEC is still the best conference...good enough for me.

Definitely especially since texts from Finebaum and Pollard confirmed it as fact.

The SEC East has done pretty well during the bowl season.

This bowl season reminds of March Madness...really good TV. Lots of improbable stories played out for us.

That whole division was nothing but inconsistent all season. The fact that they could go undefeated in the bowl season just adds to the confused head scratching reaction one must use to try and make any sense of that group of teams.

I will say the ACC has earned a lot of respect from me with their results in the bowls; sPitt withstanding of course. Georgia Tech is running their triple option to perfection this season and Notre Dame seems to have built the kind of quality and depth to compete for big things in the near future.

If Miss State hadn't jumped Michigan State, Michigan State would have gone to the orange bowl and the $23.5 million the SEC received from the Orange bowl would have gone to the big 10. It was huge that the jump occurred.

I figured at this point since they are covering her on SportsCenter (WTF?!), that the SEC is still invincible because Phyllis from Bumblef***, AL said so.

How a team that lost 3 of its last 5 could be #9, and how a team that lost 31-17 its last game could move UP three slots to #7, as MST did, is kind of bizarre. That's a testament to the CFP committee buying into hype, yes, but the evidence was already there.

Wait wait wait!!!! Wait a phukking minute. You spent three pages of a great tellin me how deserving miss st was to jump Michigan state. Really! Really?

Oh no....here we go. 05-stirthepot

Yeah I don't think the bowl games would have changed anyways, regardless of Miss St and Mich St's rankings. So it still doesn't matter that Miss St jumped Mich St.

If Mich St was ahead of Miss St, they would have had the automatic bid to the Orange Bowl. I think there was some clause that would have given the Citrus spot to the ACC if this were to happen as well, but I'm not completely sure.

The bigger issue is that such a seemingly meaningless jump course because it helped both conferences: the B1G held onto a needed bowl slot, and the SEac got more cash. And it only occurred or became necessary Because of Ohio State's jump into the top 4 (otherwise they'd have had that spot). To me the problem there - and what jump started the discussion that lead to Quo stating over and over why Miss st deserved to be ranked higher, which he has apparently forgotten and is now claiming they were overrated the whole time - is that it showed than when something was able to benefit other parities, the committee made mysterious changes to benefit those parties. Thus if their integrity can be bent for minor issues, then what's to say that the claims that they moved Ohio state up because they were a bigger name were also not true? If they would change their rankings to benefit the sec and B1G (and harm the ACC BTW), what's to say they would not also do something to benefit ESPN or the host cities? Anyway, to me; that "minor change" was very major to me.
