The SEC hype machine was lame and phony. The media never admitted any SEC West team was exposed, only that they beat up on each other in conference. Loved seeing the no.2 ACC team bust the No.2 SEC team.

The SEC West had already done that, it's just that the CFP wasn't paying attention. How a team that lost 3 of its last 5 could be #9, and how a team that lost 31-17 its last game could move UP three slots to #7, as MST did, is kind of bizarre. That's a testament to the CFP committee buying into hype, yes, but the evidence was already there.

I always thought that the computers had at least some input from the polls to do the calculations (please correct me if i'm wrong), if true then there is obvious bias, the polls bye there very nature are full of bias

The "best division in college football" is now 2 - 4 in bowls with one to go.
The 2 wins were over a 7-5 team and a 6-6 team.

Don't be ridiculous. The worst team in the division still was not only bowl eligible, but won their bowl game. Of course it's the strongest division in college football.

The nearest competitor (PAC South) still had Colorado, one of the worst teams in CFB. You simply can't ignore that fact if you're evaluating "best division." Now if you're talking "the division with the best teams at the top," then maybe you can argue another division. But "best division" necessarily includes all the teams in the division.

The worst team in the SEC West is also currently the only one to win their game. Alabama better not screw up their game, or the SEC West will have just the one win.

I can't believe I am typing this, but Quo hits it on the head this time. The SEC west may have been decent, but were not the elite teams that the media and others made them to be. Maybe, in this way, the selection committee did its job.

Eh, I still don't overreact to bowl records. The SEC West is overrated pretty much every year but is just having a bad bowl season. And now they don't have a system that rewards only two teams a chance to play for it all, which aided that 7 year national title streak.

And oh look at that, the game isn't over yet.

We've found it hard to believe all year our freshman Heard could really be worse than Swoopes. We've been in bad shape since game 1 when our starter Ash retired from repeated concussions.

Wait wait wait!!!! Wait a phukking minute. You spent three pages of a thread telling me how deserving miss st was to jump Michigan state. Really! Really?

I feel sorry for the SEC. Now that they suck at football, they don't even have the "well, at least we have good academics" argument to fall back on like the B1G does.
