I don't care what you say, Boise winning tonight for all the "little guys" is great for college football.

Boise is David?? They may not be Goliath, but they're no longer David...Boise State is a dominant program....they're a top 25 fixture

Great win for the Mountain West overall, winners of the first Access Bowl bid

This pretty much nails it and the BSU win shows what a bunch of crap the system is.

I think the Fiesta Bowl probably sighed a breath of relief when they found out they were getting Boise State instead of Marshall....

Boise State has some national recognition....they're a middling program, not a little guy....

Agree. I'm a BIG fan but I love watching Boise State during bowl season. They always come ready to play regardless if they are a huge underdog.

Excluding the windfall from playing in today's game, I'm guessing Boise State's TV revenue this season will be around $3 million. By that standard they're definitely David.

But competitively they've earned Goliath status. How many college football teams have won 3 or more BCS/CFP bowl games in the past 10 years (2005-2014)?

USC - won 4, but 1 vacated
Alabama - won 3
Boise State - won 3
Florida - won 3
Texas - won 3
West Virginia - won 3
Ohio State - won 3, but 1 vacated

Florida State or Oregon will join the club by winning tomorrow.

They probably would have shifted TCU over to the Fiesta and put Marshall in the Peach

Congrats to Boise State! Their record in the Fiesta Bowl is incredible and they brought a ton of fans for a relatively small school. Also, a great job by Brian Harsin and his staff.

I was thinking the same thing - resource-wise, BSU is a David to Arizona's Goliath.

Congrats Boise

You just get it done every time it seems.

Also, the MWC is pretty good.

Please stop all of these, Boise proves that the G5 can compete with the P5.What it means is that there are 5 or 6 teams in the G5 that can compete with the P5.The vast majority of G5 programs could not and will never be able to do what Boise has done.If your school has not beaten P5 schools on a regular basis, this win means nothing for your team .If your team is one of the best G5 then yes,it means something for the elite G5 schools

I think you are partly correct. Boise's win doesn't prove every G5 can compete with the P5s, but I do think you underestimate the number of G5s that can compete. There are quite a few G5s that have posted recent wins over P5 programs, especially when you look at the middle to bottom P5 programs.

That is good for the MWC and Boise, does nothing for rest of G5.

Are you including North. Texas in this list?
