Way to give more ammunition to the folks who want the playoff expanded immediately.

Yup - especially if the two semi games are close (or if results are unexpected - ie Ohio State over Alabama)

While there's a lot more football to be played, this bowl season has certainly put an exclamation point on one truism. It is not possible to accurately rank college football teams. Period. Nobody can do it. The "experts" don't know any more than your average fan in this regard.

There have been 25 games played so far. Underdogs have won 13 and favorites won 12. That's a coin flip. When we had the BCS, the results were the same. The #2 team was just as likely to win as the #1 team, and the #3 and #4 teams fared the same. Any system in which the participants are chosen by a beauty contest, as the current system does, and as the BCS did, is fatally flawed.

Bowl games are hard to predict. You don't know which teams are showing up, which ones are their to have fun, which ones are apathetic for being where they are, which teams are trying things for next year - on and on and on. I would guess you will for certain get the best from the semi-finalists tomorrow, however.

Yes, they can. Ask LSU.

Ask LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State and Auburn.

Well, all of their (LSU and Alabama) 2013 starters had a great rookie season in the NFL.
