It was a pretty big mismatch. Ole Miss only got into this given their performance early in the season. Their season had been on a strong downward trend after the Auburn loss.

On the contrary. It joys me to say that the downward spiral began after the loss to LSU :D

Meh, they always lose to LSU. Their season is only ever as good as it can be with the LSU loss built in.

The Auburn loss knocked them out of any serious race for anything meaningful and they lost their real playmaker. Without that kid to make up for Bo not being very good they had been sliding ever since.

TCU should never been ranked ahead of Baylor after that game.

Well, full disclosure:

Baylor won by 3, at home, in a 61-58 game.
That's 3 points out of 119, or 2.5% - and that's WITH home field advantage.

I'm guessing TCU wins 9 out of 10 on a neutral field.

TCU lost to Baylor at home last year. TCU has lost to Baylor 3 out of the last 4 years. The entire point of the game is to win, no matter where the game is played. Great game by TCU. Looking forward to Baylor doing the same tomorrow. Next year in the Big 12 should be another battle between these two schools as both return almost all of their starters.

Wow, are you a cornerback? 'cause that was some great back-pedaling there!

Yeah the loss to LSU knocked them down to #4. I thought it was #6 but I was wrong. The Auburn loss, and 2nd consecutive loss, dropped them just outside of the top 10, then a win against a high school team put them back into the top 10, then a bye knocked them up to #8, then the Arky loss dropped them to #19, and wait for it...

...

...

...

...the win over Miss St (at home) got them up to #9.

Alabama's performance the rest of the season is what kept them with the benefit of the doubt.

Still, they went 5-3 in the SEC while TCU went 8-1 in the Big12 by a mile with the only blemish a 3 point loss away to another top 5 calibre team.

The resumes don't say equals.

Ole Miss had their butts handed to them inside of 20 minutes. End of Story! No spin just a Frogs win, and for those who play, or played they know that's just football. You smile, congratulate them, and try to improve.

If there's a lot of drinking, it's a wake, not a funeral.

Oh no...not trying to make this BYU/Memphis tonight.

A few Ole Miss players looked like they were trying to start something, but TCU wouldn't participate.

Boy you just can't win with these SEC homers. If Ole Miss wins its proof of the SEC superiority but when they get beat by 40 it's oh well TCU is the Big 12's best and Ole Miss is suddenly a mid-tier SEC team. What a joke.

It's just a matchup game. The spread gives the SEC problems. Put this on coaching. But that Ole Miss offense is a joke. TCU is probably a top 4 team, but we need to see how OSU fares. If Urban Meyer's team loses by 3 scores, TCU can say told you so.

TCU deserved to be in the final 4. TCU was by far the better team and Ole Miss lost 3 of it's last 4 SEC West games. That means they beat 3 of their 6 opponents in the West. That's pretty much mid-tier lol. TCU DID surprise me with the beatdown, but I'm not complaining. I think they deserved a higher ranking. Ole Miss was way overrated, no denying that.
