Interesting comment considering BYU has a far superior football program to Memphis.

Amazing what one good year will do to some fans.

You missed that joke didn't ya

You guys have one good season and you act like world beaters! You avoided some of the best teams in the conference to boot. I think you need to take a step back and actually become a successful football program before you lay claim to a championship! JMO. You Have some STUPID fans.

Edit

And this isn't directed at you but all memphis fans. They act like they are the next big thing. BIG 12 expansion threads and what not. When you actually put together a winning program then you can talk. It pisses me off to see others that have been winning for years sit back and say nothing and then you start winning for one year and you won't STFU about it. We see you won. Your not that good.

And you avoided THE BEST teams in conference. BYU started this whole thing with a head butt and a punch from behind on a defenseless player, we ended it.

Go fist yourself dumbarse.

For damn sure, MEMPHIS wouldn't choke a sure win on a 50 yard Hail Mary. I'm sure UCF gleefully accepted that early Christmas gift.

And be happy Aresco saved ECU from playing the TIGERS next season or in 2016.

UCF didn't play Cincy or Memphis.
ECU didn't play Memphis or Houston.

Neither of you have room to talk about dodging some of the best teams in the conference.

It doesn't matter at this point the conference season has been over for a couple of weeks. Memphis took care of business today. As far as winning for years.

Memphis has 5 conference titles.
Memphis has 3 undefeated seasons in our history.

Since 1960: Seems to be the year most experts use.

1960- 8-2 (Winning Season)
1961- 8-2 (Winning Season)
1962- 8-1 (Winning Season)
1963- 9-0-1 (Winning Season)
1964- 5-4 (Winning Season)
1965- 5-5
1966- 7-2 (Winning Season)
1967- 6-3 (Winning Season)
1968- 6-4 (Winning Season)
1969- 8-2 (Winning Season)
1970- 6-4 (Winning Season)
1971- 5-6
1972- 5-5-1
1973- 8-3 (Winning Season)
1974- 7-4 (Winning Season)
1975- 7-4 (Winning Season)
1976- 7-4 (Winning Season)
1977- 6-5 (Winning Season)
1978- 4-7
1979- 5-6
1980- 2-9
1981- 1-10
1982- 1-10
1983- 6-4-1 (Winning Season) ( Dockery died after this season :( )
1984- 5-5-1
1985- 2-7-2
1986- 1-10
1987- 5-5-1
1988- 6-5 (Winning Season)
1989- 2-9
1990- 4-6-1
1991- 5-6
1992- 6-5 (Winning Season)
1993- 6-5 (Winning Season)
1994- 6-5 (Winning Season)
1995- 3-8
1996- 4-7
1997- 4-7
1998- 2-9
1999- 5-6
2000- 4-7
2001- 5-6
2002- 3-9
2003- 9-4 (Winning Season)
2004- 8-4 (Winning Season)
2005- 7-5 (Winning Season)
2006- 2-10
2007- 7-6 (Winning Season)
2008- 6-7
2009- 2-10
2010- 1-11 (Porter....)
2011- 2-10 (Porter...)
2012- 4-8
2013- 3-9
2014- 10-3 (Winning Season)

So based off of these standards that 25 winning seasons. A few more .500 seasons with a very tough schedule almost every season until after Louisville, Cincy and USF left for the Big East.

Tommy West dropped the ball when he got sick and to be honest the University did not give him the support he needed, then we hired Porter who really set us back.

Other than that we have been a VERY solid program for the last 54 years. Are we Alabama hell no. Are we respectable? That is most certainly a big yes.

Based off of todays standards we would have 25 bowl appearances.

We have more OVERALL conference titles than A lot of teams Currently in this conference. We dealt with the death of a REAL coach that was primed to lead us to much bigger and better things. The bad hires were just that bad hires. As far as all the BS comments we're reading on here some of you don't know **** about football or football history. If you think Memphis is a slouch based off of couple of bad hires then you're sadly mistaken. Even our 5-5-1 and 5-6 teams from the 80's and 90's were pretty damn good. Always competitive and always a threat. Not many ran over us.

Now that we're pouring money into football the sky is the limit. We have tons of GREAT football history. Sorry some you kids don't know anything before 2009.....

This is the crap I'm talking about. You get one whiff of success and you start acting like your football players, a bunch of inbred morons. If you think Memphis didn't start that fight you're in complete denial. Here is the video!

https://vine.co/v/OXtDFJQ5zVD

But that's beside the point. My quibble is with the consistant and unprovoked smack the spews out of your mouths constantly. You haven't beat ECU since 2006. That's 7 straight loses and 15-6 all time. When you actually beat us then you can say "you'd pound us like sand", until then STFU about it!

I like Memphis outide of the classless behavior against byu. I'm sure your coach had some choice words. Time to move on and look forward to next year.

Give the Memphis fans a break, everyone. We write posts criticizing certain conference members for not having good football programs. Now, one of those members has a great season, and we're jumping on them for being happy about it? We should be congratulating them for their program's tremendous improvement. We need as many good football teams in the AAC as we can get.
