Pre-Military bowl comments
Saw this in article from Gobbler County "know they opponent". Who would have thought the word "only" would proceed anything about the Bearcats defense. The turn around has been a credit to the team and coaches. I am really excited about this game. Could make a big statement to the Big 12.

" Cincinnati boasts the 13th ranked passing attack in the nation and averages over 35 points a contest while only allowing 26.8 a game on the defensive side of the football. Their three loses this season came at the hands of Ohio State, Memphis and Miami on consecutive weeks, but they have not lost since."

Link?

This is definitely a game that UC needs to take care of business. From a perception standpoint (both nationally and within Bearcat Nation) of where the program is, beating a 6-6 (3-5) ACC team is critical IMO. The Cats lost to a 6-6 UNC team last year but going into the game N. Carolina was red hot. It's great that UC has won the last seven in a row but to win a bowl game against ACC staple VT would definitely put an exclamation point on the 2014 season and build some momentum for next year.

I would also add our three losses earlier this season. There is still a large group of people who believe we are only good enough to beat the Lil' Sisters of the Poor but once a team with a pulse rolls around we get outclassed.

Edit: That being said, after we beat Tech we will hear how we beat a bad team. As I have long said the public moves the goal posts for UC more than any other team in the country.

RE: Pre-Military bowl comments
After OSU crushed Wisconsin and UC actually scored against them, hopefully those thoughts will be gone. I think UC run of wins after Memphis joke game has changed that opinion of UC team.
