OPPM ratings for Oklahoma game
Gault 1050, Clark .550, Collins .540, Pratt .530, James .470, Dawn .460, Cobbins .400 and Keys .370. Do these figures accurately tell you who played the better game? Not necessarily. They're designed to show per minute played what a player contributed. Obviously the stats for two players are exactly the same, except one plays less minutes than the other, his or her score will be higher. And there are other factors in play such as handling the ball under pressure. Playing shut down defense. But these figures do give you an indication of how much a player is contributing in the minutes that they do play. Would these averages be the same for a player if they played more minutes? Maybe. Maybe not. But it gives us something to look at and determine how each player stacks up against the others on the team at a given time, or for the season when it ends.
