Yeah. I know it's only been a few days since the Hawaii Bowl announcement but I was hoping that some Rice v Fresno St. Hawaii Bowl shirts might be available. We're going to have a family get together on Christmas Eve and watch the game. It would be nice to have everybody dressed appropriately in Hawaii Bowl Rice gear!

FIFY

Our bookstore is unbelievably consistent in their ability to stock nothing of value/decent sizes ever.

As a fallback you could always where the Rice baseball Hawaiian shirts Jimmy Disch sold a couple years back (prior to our series in Hawaii).

Fanatics.com has a 2014 Hawaii Bowl shirt. Not exciting but it is a game shirt. Most of the good stuff is sold in the team hotel or at tbe game.

I know that the Hess stadium has been razed, but has any decision about that land's future use been made/announced in the 18 months since that May 2013 Chronicle article? If not, what are the leading options/rumors?

Wow. Thanks.

Enjoy the view while you can, Loki, for construction of the $30 million, 50,000-square-foot Moody Center for the Arts began Dec. 11.

And, by the way, check out these architect's renderings from Michael Maltzan Architects (Los Angeles), featured in the job posting for the Moody Center's director:

Could the visual contrast with most of the nearby Rice buildings -- especially the Stalinesque Alice Pratt Brown Hall -- be any greater?

I think it looks pretty great and I was impressed by the other work found on their website. To each his/her own, I guess. I think the contrast may work well.
