In some way I can see what you're saying, but you simply cannot give a spot to a team that lost to another team that didn't get in. Over an undefeated team, at least.

I think Oregon wins this thing. Seems kinda anti-climactic that everybody assumes who is gonna win the first two games. I'd take an upset in one of the semi-final games.

My only argument to that is how did OSU get in then? Out of Bama, Oregon, TCU, and Baylor they had the worst loss by far.....at HOME.

I really believe that if TCU was Texas or Oklahoma they stay in the top 4 and OSU stays home. Beauty pageant for sure.

It all came down to playing one more game. The committee said multiple times that the 13th game was the difference.

RE: Playoffs
Winston, unfortunately, will lead the Noles to another championship. They've been getting everyone else's best effort all year and it will pay off in the playoffs because they're battle tested. Bama has also played in a lot of close game so they'll clean up on the Buckeyes and FSU and Bama will play an epic championship game with FSU winning at the end, IMO. Or maybe Coker will come in for Sims at the end and beat his old team. Wouldn't that be something?

And the B12 tried to get greedy and get both teams in by saying they are co-champs. They should have said Baylor was the champion by head to head. And they should have a conference championship.

There's all sorts of weird inconsistencies that make the playoff just as big a mess as the BCS or the polls, such as the 13th game when some don't have it or the existence of championship games at all.

Even though I think TCU or Baylor may be better than OSU, I'm not going to crap on OSU for their loss vs Virginia Tech too much. Yeah, it was a bad loss and when you're splitting hairs like this it might be all we've got. But, September was a long-ass time ago and OSU has obviously gotten better and better.

Maybe I'm projecting because I'm sensitive about people crapping on NIU because of how we spit the bit vs CMU. Different team now.

EDIT: This might be the most meandering, BS post I've ever made. I've changed my mind 3 times while writing this crap. Carry on.

Baylor or TCU should be in above OSU

Not sure how that happened? OSU played a cake schedule

Baylor was 3-0 against top 20

Don't plan on watching before 8:30pm and even then only if its close at that time.

I would rather see Oregon win big. I have 2 neighbors friends that are OSU and AL fans (for no reason) so either way I will hear about it on Facebook and at our parties. I guess it would be better for NIU if OSU won both games right?

B12 members not making the playoffs only helps the Huskies chances at joining the B12 or another conference. I hate OSU, but I'm happy they're in. I'll be rooting for the Ducks, though.

If the allegations against the University of Alabama Board of Regents working behind the scene to cut UAB football are correct, I'd even cheer for Toledo before I root for the Crimson Tide.

The other three are all tied to be the absolute last team I want to see win the championship:

Alabama - Seriously, no one outside the state of Alabama wants to see them win.

FSU - I'm still holding a grudge from 2012. Fortunately I think they'll get knocked out immediately, and Winston can get a head start on becoming the next Geno Smith of the NFL.

OSU - I currently live in Ohio. Putting up with all of the insane Buckeye fans for the foreseeable future after OSU claiming the title would be too much to bare.
+1 Although I don't live in Ohio, I agree with your reasoning. "The" Ohio State fans are pompous and obnoxious. It only will get worse if they beat Bama and Oregon.

Yeah that's fair. I'm commenting on those who specifically say they won't watch any of the games because the system isn't to their liking. It's a joke. These games will be fun to watch and anyone who appreciates football should want to see them.

I'll be washing my horse. These four teams are the antithesis of what college football should be. They will be on probation again within the decade.

No they won't. What are they going to go on probation for? None of these programs need to cheat that badly to get recruits. You have the four best brands in college football right now.

Yes they will. Just like they have already each had penalties imposed in the last decade. They (and Winston) may give you a thrill up your leg brandy, but not me. I will only support true college student-athlete programs like NIU.

Yeah because Winston (or any other individual) makes every player on all four of these teams an untrue student athlete. Good argument.

Yeah, even though I dislike OSU -- I want them to win it out. WMU & NIU play them -- if one of us knocks them off (or up?) -- it will be great next year.

I hate Urban Meijers. :)
