Those would all be marginal homes for UCF athletics while we wait for the NFC South to expand.

That would be the logical move actually...i was baffled in 96 when Orlando rolled out a football team and then attached a school to it. Central Florida Knights in the NFC south fits. With Daunte Culpepper at QB, you would ve been one of the top 2 in that division right from the start. But the football team chose to go college instead of pro?? Why?

The NFC South was formed in 2002, even though the Bucs had really done nothing of note in the NFC North, they got the nod over UCF. Old money, same story, different chapter.

I'll probably be in the minority again if any team from the AAC moves to the Big 12.

I'm sick of it. I like playing USF, ECU, Tulsa, and the rest every year. Money shouldn't exist, burn all of it.

Don't worry my friend. UCF is where it's always going to be unless the AAC blows up somehow and you were forced to go down to cusa or start up a new league with the left behinds, which I seriously doubt. That would be the only way UCF wouldn't be in the AAC. As long as there is an AAC, UCF will be in it.

Good luck with that.

My bad, UCF will be added to either the SEC, ACC or Big 12 soon. Those 3 leagues are full of UCF peer schools. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Nope I just think you are wrong. There are two non Ucf athletic departments who say different.

So. It sounds like ECU will have to choose between accepting the ACC's offer or the Big 12's offer?

I hear Terry Holland has brokered these offers behind the scenes...

Sorry buddy...TuxedoYoga just announced it is Cincy and UCF to the Big 12. Texas was the decider.

when did I say ECU was going to the ACC or Big 12? Just because UCF havn't accepted reality doesn't mean that I'm the same way anymore. I don't think ECU is going anywhere nor do I think UCF is. Cincinnati and UCONN are way ahead of us. UCONN is too far away from big 12. Cincinnati will probably get picked up eventually. A 200'year old university with a 1.2 billion endowment, football since late 1800's in a historic stadium. They LL get in; they fit the profile for what the expansion crowd is looking at.

UCF has had some fine moments in its brief history; but what makes you think that B12 wants UCF, or that Georgia Tech would have any desire to leave the ACC?

Big 12 is a better conference in football and Georgia Tech is a football school not a basketball school. I could also see Florida St. leaving after going undefeated and almost being snubbed by the play-off committee. Regardless there is no way the big 12 takes UCF in my opinion.
Georgia Tech is an academic school. That is why they left the SEC. The ACC is the perfect fit for Georgia Tech. Until things change (i.e. North Carolina rumbling), the ACC is fine.

ok got ya....cool. Well, it's looking like Cinci is going to be gone if the sporting news article about the big 12 secretly meeting with them recently tells us anything. I've already braced myself for this, and seriously, if anyone deserves the upgrade it's them.

Let's not pretend that any of the AAC schools would not give their collective left nuts to move up.

Nobody's leaving the ACC. Every team has signed a grant of media rights.

Houston with 7 million people and 10th market in the USA will end up somewhere. Once the BIG 12 picks 2 or 4 teams and UH is not included the PAC 12 will take UH and Rice. Puts the PAC 12 in Texas.

I live in your town and even once took a class at Houston. I can claim that I'm a fan of the coogs a little bit...Followed them since the high flying SWC days of Andre Ware. With all that being said, i remember Texas saying that they'd never be in a league with Houston again. I'm just not sure what's changed since 1994 with Texas wanting nothing to do with Houston? Big Houston, would you care to chime in? Has there been some developments I haven't heard since then? As far as the PAC 12 goes....what have they been waiting for all these years if UH is the logical choice for them?
P.S. I'm a "UH sympathizer", and I was shocked when the Big 12 invited Baylor and Texas Tech in 94, and not Houston and TCU. This isn't hindsight, at the time I couldn't believe Texas Tech was picked up by the Big 12. Texas politics at it's worst.....
