I'll probably be in the minority again if any team from the AAC moves to the Big 12.

I'm sick of it. I like playing USF, ECU, Tulsa, and the rest every year. Money shouldn't exist, burn all of it.

Don't worry my friend. UCF is where it's always going to be unless the AAC blows up somehow and you were forced to go down to cusa or start up a new league with the left behinds, which I seriously doubt. That would be the only way UCF wouldn't be in the AAC. As long as there is an AAC, UCF will be in it.

So how often do you wish you weren't playing the AAC teams and wish for Rice, Southern Miss and UAB?

Huh?

I wouldn't call a party of one a "minority". Party of one is nothing.

You are right that the ACC teams wont go to the Big 12, but I wouldnt rule out a move to the Big 10 once they get a new 1st tier contract. the Big 10 will make over $10 million a year more then the ACC teams... its very possible.

As far as USF fans not wanting realignment, I dont think its that. Its more so that we have been through all of this before. There is one huge underlining assumption that most are forgetting. The Big 12 really doesnt want to expand.

I think its way more likely that they attempt to get a waiver for a championship game first. If that doesnt work, then I expect them to lead the charge to expand the playoff to 8. Yes the current contract runs for the next 12 years but it can be changed by a vote.

If there were an 8 team playoff, then the Big 12 would be getting 2 teams in and an extra $12 million, whereas adding two teams would more then likely dilute there income.

Lastly, the Big 10 will get a record contract. It will be obnoxiously profane. If after it is signed, I think you could see the Big 12 make there move then. They would have the opportunity to show that the market has increased, that they are underpaid and then they can expand with whomever they want.
If within that time the Longwhore Network continues to struggle, you could see ESPN make a move to change it to a Big 12 network. At that point, UCF and USF become much more viable...and adding more then just 2 teams also become more profitable.

I just dont see a quick move right now. The big 12 has other cards to play first. If they dont wash out, then Id expect them to make a move in 2016, so were about 2 years away.

99% of the fans of every school in this conference want a P5 invite. Same for USF of course... Makes no difference if you are winning or losing... That's the OP point, he feels like he's in the minority.

I'd call BS if anyone here didn't want a P5 call up.

Don't get me wrong though, as it stands in the current landscape--our only real conference peer is the MWC as far as on the field goes. And our collection of schools between the two are better than anything the SBC, MAC, and CUSA can offer. Only the T2-3 teams in CUSA or MAC could even be comparable individually.

RE: I'll be honest (again), I'll be pissed if we move conferences again
Big 12 pays more to it's members than the ACC.

The Big 12 with a championship game > ACC
The Big 12 without a championship game > ACC

If FSU would have had 1 loss then they would have been 100% out of the picture ( No other ACC team considered). A 1 loss Big 12 Baylor or TCU would have gotten the spot. They had 3 teams in the top 9.

The answers are sitting in front of whoever is arguing the point.

No, no ACC team will leave for the Big 12, but the Big 12 still has the better perception and is considered the better conference.

Spot on. That's what I have been trying to convey as well. I will tell you that no matter what kitten head says we are both very much on the b12s radar

This. If the power brokers know the playoff is moving to 8 w/ auto bids there will be little reason to expand unless there is a conference network to promote.

Personally, I thought this last season was boring on this board. Glad to see where back to the CUSA circa '10-'12, we're-more-expansion-worthy-than-you smack talk. Should make an entertaining off-season.

The problem IS. . . .the "best" aren't always the ones who get the invite. It's the ones who happen to be in larger, metro markets. Actual fan support isn't a factor. Makes no sense! $$$$$$$$$$

Don't worry. ECU is in that group. Sorry to say but everybody in the AAC not taken by the Big 12 and isn't Tulsa and Tulane needs to merge with the best of the MWC. 07-coffee3

My bad, UCF will be added to either the SEC, ACC or Big 12 soon. Those 3 leagues are full of UCF peer schools. Is that what you wanted to hear?

Those would all be marginal homes for UCF athletics while we wait for the NFC South to expand.

you got me. It is what I hope. ECU needs UCF in our league to keep it legitimate. If we lose UCF we re toast. I'm just trying to do my job and be a good employee for my company: Keep UCF in the AAC INC. Its a good gig and pays a lot. Damn you guys are a sensitive bunch...

Do I detect sarcasm here? Sure the b-12 would just love to add two other Texas schools to further minimize them as a regional conference. Perhaps they could rename the B-12 the Texas conference plus others. Too funny....
