I don't have the kind of money that "the people who write the checks" have to toss around. Sorry...
I'll take that $500 and buy my wife something really nice for Christmas...I can enjoy the fringe benefits that it will bring later...
Damn, doing the same also.

RE: Memphis vs BYU in the Miami Beach Bowl
We are going to this bowl for a few reasons, 1- To beat up BYU, and Show the Big 12, if they did choose us we are worth the gamble, 2- for recruiting purposes and exposure outside of SEC country, Tampa and Orlando and exposure in South Florida is a good thing for that, 3- to to experience a big time city, and get the players more use to Big Time Events going forward, for coming back ready to go to work in the offseason.....University of Memphis, Delta's Team....The World Is Ours Memphis....

Lol at the rebel fan giving them a scouting report.
Quote:Offense is nothing to write home about. We held then to just over 100 yards of total offense.

Had a non-stop flight pulled up on Priceline leaving Saturday morning at 8:30am before Monday game and returning at 8:30 pm the day after game for $632-went to another page and came back in 3 minutes or so and it had gone up to $1,083.

And....the nice weather and the fact our QB is from Florida as are several other players. South Florida is a great recruiting area....one of the best in the country.

That's an arrogant and pathetic way of looking at it. All the support matters. That's the way past administration looked at it.
Do you blame them 35,000 came out for the conference championship game
1. A late season game in November against a team ranked 176 in the sagarin rankings wasn't in any way a "conference championship game." It just wasn't.
2. The real story is that 35,000 is 10,000 to 20,000 more than we've been pulling for similar opponents in over the past few years.

so its okay for no one to come to the game if its a late season game against a low ranked team?

RE: Memphis vs BYU in the Miami Beach Bowl
What other conference puts their champ or co-champ in the only bowl they have that's not against a p5 opponent? Recruiting? What recruits are we after that would be impressed with us playing byu in a 2:00 pm monday bowl that will have less people than my jobs Christmas party. I'm not buying the hype.

Facetious about what? Yes the ones that write checks matter and yes they matter the most, when it comes to funding the program and Athletic Dept. in the short term. But in the long run we also need the "
rank and file" to multiply! We need the casual fan to get excited and to get engaged, go to games, go to bowls, bring their kids, have kids get excited, etc. I am not being factious at all. That is how the past admin was, only catering to the large doners. I don't think this is about that though, it's literally a combo of the conference wanting us in Miami the and admin / staff wanting to be there due to winning chances and reward for everyone in program. I'm just saying it would have been better for the growth of the program for the majority of fans to be engaged and get to go to the bowl experience
