RE: CFP Conversation- final week!
Still nonsensical. OSU has played too many tight ball games through the course of the season. That's the only reason they'll miss it at this point. If the committee is consistent, TCU will be in at 3. But for every PSU game, there is a Kansas game. Or an OU game. So to me, OSU is comparable and have better wins. TCU does not have the signature win. That's the difference.

Get a Championship game already.
Wisconsin might be level with Boise State or Marshall.
As for championship games, if you want to penalize a team for happening to play in a conference that doesn't have one, do you also want to penalize a team, like Ohio State, who has a conference championship game in name only because their opponents don't even get off the bus?
I don't think it's punishing a team strictly for being in a conference with no championship game, I think it's a team being hurt by having one less win than all the others. It's at least a factor.
It's not a punishment, it's just another metric that doesn't help. As for the Wisconsin comparisons, stop.

How do we know? TCU beat K-State, who looks a heckuva lot better than Wisconsin. Michigan State is the only Ohio State opponent worthy of respect. We don't have a large enough sample size of teams being tested against quality opponents. The decision is purely subjective.
That's the whole problem with leaving it up to 12 people whose opinions are no more or less valuable than yours or mine.

BTW: GT just cut the FSU lead to 37-35, 1:47 left. Onside kick coming up.
Edit: FSU recovers and can run out the clock. GT only has one timeout.

RE: CFP Conversation- final week!
The Committee has a lot of consider now.
To do justice by FSU, OSU, and Baylor for that matter, they'd have to drop TCU from the top four while adding bumping FSU up one and OSU up one too. Crazy!
This whole thing is going to come down to wether or not they think TCU is more deserving than either OSU or FSU. I'm not sure they are.

GT doesn't have the athletes like FSU, Alabama, etc., but nobody wants to play them!

Bama vs FSU
Oregon vs OSU
Six legit claims to four spots. But this is best four
Pretty tough to make the argument that TCU was better than FSU last week but worse after this week.

No way you can make an argument that Kansas state is any better than Wisconsin. Kansas state hasn't beaten anyone all year. Who's their best win? Honestly. An average 8-4 Oklahoma team?

So is the discussion "FSU or OSU"?
The 12 people in that conference room are going to have to seriously discuss leaving the only undefeated team out of the playoff. Crazy.
By the way, the talking heads on ESPN are making a full-court press for Ohio State right now. And probably hoping that the committee members are sitting in their hotel watching.

They didn't lose to Northwestern. The committee had them #9 before a close loss to Baylor. Wisconsin was #13 before getting blown out by Ohio St. The polls all think KSU is better. Your comment is ridiculous.
You could argue Wisconsin is better, but the fact is almost every poll and metric disagrees with you.

I don't see a b12 team in the top 4. The championship game will boost OSU in.

RE: CFP Conversation- final week!
So I don't see how the committee bumps TCU down to 5 after this weekend to let in a champion of a terrible league who has a terrible loss. They're already letting in another champion of a different terrible league just because they have no losses, and they're the last team in.
Basically I just don't see how this weekend's results change the order of the top 4, seeing as none of the top 4 slipped up.

Not really that hard. FSU beat another high ranked team and won their conference outright. TCU beat a winless in conference Iowa state and is the One (Two) True Champion(s).

RE: CFP Conversation- final week!
I think the fact that Ohio St emphatically beat down a good Wisconsin to claim an outright B1G title is going to be enough to push them into the playoff. If it had been close maybe they would of taken TCU, but it's not close and Cardale Jones has looked very good.
#1-Alabama
#2-Oregon
#3-Florida St
#4-Ohio St
---------------
#5-TCU
#6-Baylor
#7-Michigan St
#8-Mississippi St
#9-Mississippi
#10-Kansas St
#11-Arizona
#12-Georgia Tech

Meh. Kansas State's best wins are Oklahoma and West Virginia. Wisconsin's are Nebraska and Minnesota. I give Kansas State the edge for not having any bad losses, but it's not an overwhelming one. But the beating Ohio State is putting on Wisconsin in the conference championship game (neutral site, primetime, playoff environment) is much more impressive than either TCU or Baylor's wins over K-State.

I don't see FSU or OSU being left out. In the end, the fact that they won championship games and finished 13-0 and 12-1 instead of 11-1 will make the difference. Sorry TCU.

Wisconsin didn't beat anyone better than Oklahoma. And when K-State played the best teams on their schedule, they didn't get squashed like bugs on a windshield.

Deflect, deflect, deflect. College football has always been about who you have beat. Neither team has beaten anyone of real consequence. That was my point.
