Miami Beach Bowl Info
Game: Monday, December, 22, 2014
Kickoff: 1:00 PM Central Time
TV: ESPN
Game Tickets: $60.00
Parking: $20.00
Website: Miami Beach Bowl
It is critical that if we do get selected for the bowl, and you are going to PLEASE BUY TICKETS THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY.
Yes, secondary market will be flooded with tickets, but it matters if you buy them from the university.

When people talk about (or it is reported on the news) how many people a university brought to a particular game, the figure they use is tickets sold THOUGH THE SCHOOL'S ATHLETIC OFFICE. Not Stub-hub.

Buying anywhere else is taking $ directly away from the school.

the schools are required by contract to buy a certain amount of tickets and if they don't sell them they eat the expense.

I get the buying through the university and I support that but if you are going to the game...Miami supports nothing tickets will be 5 bucks day of the game. Have 3 alumni buddies that are trying to round up friends to wear blue for the game. I wish I could make it but work just won't allow it.

Awesome, and they should be commended!!! I'll buy them a beer, seriously. But, please, if you can, buy thru the Univeristy 'cause it does make a difference to the school 'cause the school has to eat the cost...meaning less monies for the school. And, it tells others we cannot sell our tickets...remember our Big12 aspirations. We can't tell you what to do, but please do what's best for the school, if you're able....if you're able, but take care of yourself first.

They explained that on the radio this morning. They said it wasn't certain we were going to Miami but they needed to plan farther ahead since most people would have to fly to Miami whereas most would drive to Birmingham.

RE: Miami Beach Bowl Info
I have been holding back on this . But, I have had afew brews on fri night. so, here it goes.
So, some have posted that really we should go to the bowl that the players and team want to attend. Period.
No emphasis on how many Tiger fans can BUY TICS and attend games.
So, now the hopefully 1000 fans that can attend bowl game on Mon before christmas need to buy tics from Tic office to help out in giving the Univ credit for these tic sales being Tiger fans attending the bowl game.
Well, if Tiger fans buying tics and attending game is important , AD and co. need to push hard for Birmingham bowl. if they want to attend Miami bowl for other reasons, then they have chosen to make fan attendance NOT a high priority.
Can not have it both ways. Just imho. sorry for the mini rant.

Excellent point and well articulated. I would add that another important reason to buy tickets from the university is so we get credit for our travel reputation, which is extremely important both for consideration by the Big 12 and future bowls. Better, of course, to buy thru stub-hub than stay at home.

Just so y'all know, you can buy tickets and donate them to, say, the Miami Boys & Girls Club, if you can't go. You can write off the cost of the tickets and you help the school at the same time. I'm 99% not going to Ole Miss's bowl game if it's the stupid Taxslayer Bowl, but this is what I'll be doing. I didn't feel like going to Nashville last year (Bad Rebel), but I did the same and know some other folks that did, as well.
