Out of control on offense and giving away the ball too much.

Owls trail 41-40 with 12 to go.

Transitioning from Braun's style to Rhoades' style of play is going to hurt this season.

ThatGuy, I came to game broadcast late, did anyone mention what is up with Denzel Davis not dressing?

These players don't have the right skill set to play this style, and it shows. With BB's schemes, I have no doubt this and the WSU games would be wins. I like the style he wants to play, but he needs to recruit to it first. I always say that the mark of a great coach is adapting his style to the athletes at hand. In the past two years, BB got absolutely everything out of a depleted roster, and Rhodes looks to be on pace to do less with more. It's clear what we're doing isn't working, and Coach's intransigence is frustrating to say the least.

As for Davis, Nothing I've heard. But I'm at the game.

UAA BY 11 with 2 mins to go.

If Rice cannot defeat a Division II team, I don't envision more than 3 wins for the year.

RE: MBB: Rice vs. Alaska-Anchorage
I feel like we've regressed in every game we've played. Every time the team plays, it is the worst they have been all season. Hopefully our STU/SEU/HBU home stand doesn't keep up the trend.

Indeed!

I am aware of that schedule. I think it's quite possible that they will take 2 of those 3, then go winless for the remainder of the season.

Thanks for answering, ThatGuy.

I understand the transition to this style might potentially entail a step back this year, but it's not set in stone.

I'll take whatever pain comes from this switch in styles as I personally would rather watch Rhoades' style vs what we've had. A couple more wins is not going to be the difference-maker for Rice in Basketball.

We needed a sea change and that's what Rhoades was hired to do. I'll hang in there with him a few seasons and put my basketball pitchfork away until we see what it looks like a few years down the road. Meantime, I think instilling this style even with our present players will instill good things for them personally from the experience. they weren't accomplishing much under Braun's last several years.

Keep fighting men. Give Rhoades a chance. Only game 6 of season 1.

Hope you enjoyed beautiful Alaska, and have a safe trip back!
