Final Rice 74 WSU 76.
Gearhart with 22pts; Jackson with 14 pts; Peera with career-high 10pts.

FG
Rice 25-62 40.3%
WSU 24-51 47.1%

FT
Rice 14-20 70.0%
WSU 21-29 72.4%

3Pt
Rice 8-22 36.4%
WSU 7-15 46.7%

Rice 39 rebounds
WSU 32 Rebounds

Rhoades has to figure out how to get 'em not to come out so cold. Spotting a team the first 12 points of the game is tough no matter who you are.

Rice now 1-4 on the young season.

Mentioned depth a bit earlier in thread.

Davis played a little last night (4 min). And against P-View.

Nate Pollard has a couple of minutes here and there.

Oliver Xu played in the exhibition and scored 5pts along with Pollard, but AFAICT he hasn't played in a regular game as of yet.

Egor Koulechov won't be eligible until next season.

Joey Burbach made a cameo.

With the pressing-D and 3 back to back games, wonder if we'll see the bench get a few more minutes of exposure against Alaska-Anchorage tomorrow afternoon, as well as some of the upcoming December games against Houston Baptist and Sts Edwards and Thomas?

Would like to know more on Denzel Davis' status, outlook.

Just wondering out loud here. Also, Drone's been carrying the load at center early so far, and that's going to take its toll this year.

A building year in many senses. Coach Rhoades referred to this season "won't be easy in many ways." in the postgame radio interview.

It seems that Peera has made very positive contributions in both games up in Alaska.

They are soooooooo much better than they were last year. We need to be patient with these guys and see what they can develop in to. Mercer and WSU arn't bad teams.

After we get back from Alaska, there is a four game stretch where all of them are winnable (but not a sure thing). I would think those would be the games we try to test some new players to see how they do.

I think the "e" on the end means that it's really fancy bacon.
