A couple questions:

If Marshall lost to Ole Miss and Alabama would that make us more worthy?

How does it make Memphis, ECU, and La Tech fans feel that beating your team is placed so low on the list of college football accomplishments?

Politics in college sports is no different than national politics: Keep the masses fighting among themselves while the power elite steals all the money.

Would you rather have a close loss at home to WKU, or a close loss on hoe road against UCLA? A loss by 7 at UCLA> a close win at UAB

you could not have destroyed more goodwill than you did that week.

You need to get out more. Anyone that can hate and entire fan base and school over the actions of a few board posters appears to be very easily influenced. What is that cross section? 50 posters versus 110,000 alumni? If I gauged any fan base from these message boards, I would probably give us following sports.

Getting out does wonders for your perspective. I GO to USM and love their fans in the stands. I GO to ECU and have hundreds of acquaintances and friends there. I GO to UAB, Memphis, Tulane, etc and have met great fans to enjoy the game.

ESPN and the P5 selection committee on the other hand could make me stop following college football...

Anyway you look at it Dowdy, the committee is placing more cred on losing to an SEC team than they are beating ECU. How does that make you feel?

No they're not. Losing in a tight game against a top 15 team on the road IS better than beating ECU in a close game.

As far as which conferences are considered the toughest, let's see which Bowl eligible teams are left at home.

I knew the Herd would choke.... I expect a LA Tech victory as well.

I'm just here to point out to the fans who were calling Ole Miss "mediocre" that they just knocked off the #2 team last night.

The Boise loss looks a lot better right now.

We played Ole Miss tougher and at Ole Miss. Boise played them on a neutral field. With that said, doesn't really matter because Boise controls their own destiny.
