Have we heard anything out of the AD's office since Bowen came in? I mean before they wanted us to?

I may be wrong but I get the impression that not as much stuff comes out since he's arrived. Of course I get all my inside information from this board, so I'm probably not the expert on the operation of the Memphis Athletic Department.

I think this is what a competent administration looks like. You don't play everything out in front of the public, and you don't negotiate through the media. We're just not quite used to competence yet.

Yep, why tip your hand to another school during the negotiating process? No need to get into a public bidding war with other schools. We don't need some TV station or tweets saying, "Fuente will reportedly be offered X number of dollars . . . ."

Fuente and his agent have some idea what the market will bear as does Bowen. Let the contract get signed, sealed, and delivered before making it public.

It's in process I'm told. Substantial increase in base salary, plus bonuses for the usual add-ons (wins, conference championships, bowl wins, etc.).
