I think the panty wad was directed at us southern fans.

Congrats app. Appreciate the help. The above is nothing but sour grapes. Our sun belt ring proves who the best in the belt is and it ain't app. App came on strong but we beat them like a rented mule and they also lost to liberty. The season began in September, not November. I am starting to think everyone overrates asu and ull.
You guys keep holding onto that game in Sept. Next year can't get here soon enough!

ULL's coach had some unkind words for transitional teams before the season, but was classy in his postgame presser giving credit to App.

There is a reason why our programs were 2 of the top 3 in FCS (Montana being the other) although I have to admit that I am a surprised we both did this well in year 1. I know a lot of fans thought we were crazy to expect to compete quickly, but when you're used to winning you always have high expectations. It didn't hurt that a few if the traditional powers are down a little this year, but I think both of our teams earned every win they had. Now we just need the bottom 3 teams to improve and this league will be extremely stout. So glad to be here!
PS: I love seeing the butt hurt of former Sun Belt members who had much longer adjustment periods. Of course none of them were very good in FCS outside of a few years.

Congrats to App State on the win yesterday. That was not the game I expected and an eye opener, so you learn and move on. Congrats to G. Southern on their first year with at least a tie for the title. And congrats to all of the 1st year teams in the Sun Belt. Freshman year is just about over and an impression has been made. I guess the only tidbit that I can give is win with class and lose with humility. Like I tell my daughters, "It's not always about you." Congrats guys.

As far as App, they have definitely improved the most. This team looks scary right now, but it's still the same team that lost to Liberty and USM and got drilled by USA. I'm glad we got them when we did.
That shows that no football program in the Fun Belt has such an overwhelming talent advantage or more importantly, depth, to just go out and dominate the conference, or even out of conference, ever.
That is the reality of being in a "have not" football conference in the NCAA, like the Belt, in this messed up era of college football. Kind of unfortunate.

Sorry Catmom, I didn't mean you folks, I was referring to the Georgia State fans who tried to highjack this thread when it really had nothing to do with them. We got our butts kicked by a good team, we just wanted to give props where props are due.

I just stopped by to say congrats, App State. I couldn't be happier that you were able to turn your program around at mid season. Another great win.

Crowley, this is one of the classiest posts I have ever read. If more fans were like you, I'd be more incline to come here more often.

Congrats. Been singing praises for adding you guys and GS since before you were added. As for former SBC members talking trash, go look at their records and their resumes this year. They woul lose to either if you guys this year.
Everyone said they wanted a better conference and we got it.

I thought the RGSU was going to be retired after I was given a hard time about weather jokes?

That pretty much the bottom line. Ga Southern fans always felt we could compete in the Sun Belt or CUSA even when we were FCS. Unfortunately saying that really rubs people the wrong way, true or not. And I understand people naturally want new programs to "pay their dues", but that is just not how it is going to work for the Ga Southern and App programs.
+1 We are not the typical move up and we will never act like it. Sorry scrub programs and bush conference.
I know it's difficult but try to show a little class. You act like a little loudmouth 8th grader. Don't be a punk.

Give me a break. We had to hear all pre-season how hard it is to make the move up and how amazing the darlings of the Sun Belt are (Gayjuns) so I will gloat as much as I feel like it. It's sports, dude. I'm not surprised by our solid season, very pleased yes, surprised, nope. GATA!

I usually have a self imposed 24 hour moratorium on message boards after a loss.
So I'm here now to tip my cap to App. Y'all just flat out beat us. Next year's game just got circled.
