I am with John here as I do not understand why you are not able to have a conversation with someone that is not drinking the NIU kool aid? We welcome Ken's comments to the Stampede board, however, I will admit that he does go over the top sometimes.
Even if your general board like George W Bush in a 2004 campain, "town hall" meeting, where you will field questions and criticism so long as everyone in the town hall are registered republicans, then the title of this thread is a lie.
Welcome Boat Rowing Nation.
Of coarse you take a fellow WMU fans side. God forbid you or John go back and read the other threads with certain WMU fans coming here to tell us Huskies that we are the worst 9 win team ever and make fun of a team that was winning their game. You guys only came here to have gentlemanly conversations and not to stir the pot. Yeah, right. Also, you ignore the Huskies fans who have said all along that WMU is the better team and call us childish for not bowing before the mighty Broncos. Now that I think of it, Ken does that too. Must be a Michigan thing.
I never said you were ther worst 9 win team in the country. Get your facts straight. My comment on the Broncos Stampede board was that maybe the Huskies offensive and defensive lines were singing lullabies at the line of scrimmage, putting their opponents to sleep late in their games and that was in response to the original post in that thread. I know better. I have sat in the NIU press box on a cold rainy day during a Huskies homecoming when the Broncos were favored and lost. I watched the Huskies destroy the Broncos on national television. I've seen the box scores over the years and know more times than not the Huskies are going to beat the Broncos. I will occasionally predict a Broncos win over the Huskies (like I am this week) but most of the time in this matchup I will tend to pick the Huskies to win.

John, you seem like a nice guy, and I am very sorry for saying "suck my balls" on an earlier thread, humor is often misconstrued as talking smack or being rude. Huskies don't sing lullabies, they crush dreams of their foe. Above I think you are talking a little smack and wrapping it in a bow.....well done

I think it was ChipDip -- when he criticizes, he adds UMPH to it.
BUT I do have to say that I do think I agree with that statement *alone* (there's only 3 G5 9-win teams), although I don't agree that NIU is as bad as ChipDip expresses. I think NIU hasn't played/proven to their potential. It's reloading season and yeah, I think they should be thankful & happy being 9-2 because in most years given all these factors, especially since they seemed Better earlier in the season (but seem to be stabilizing some) -- they usually would not be.
9-win G5 teams:
- Boise State (9-2)
- Utah State (9-3)
- NIU (9-2)
Utah State had a tougher schedule. If NIU beats @WMU, one can soundly make the case they're equal to or better than Utah State. Saying a G5 team is "the worst 9 win team in the country" doesn't say much if there's only 2 other G5 9-win teams. :)

MileHigh, no worries on my part. I've learned through my years of being a fan of sports that fans define smack in different ways. I just try yo keep in clean and as polite as possible unless the opponent is Eastern. I can't stand them more than most people other than ChipDip can't stand stand CMU.
In all seriousness though, I think this is going to be a hard fought game by both teams. Both defensive units will be in control for most of the game. But in the end the Broncos will get a late 4th quarter touchdow. Halderman will miss the PAT but NIU will run out of time. WMU wins 27-20.

Tim, you said a bunch of us were saying it, but you named no one. Only ond person said NIU was the worst 9 win team in the country and I haven't seen him post here this week. You also said some of us called you all childish. Again no names mentioned but I will put my name on it because I was the one who used the word childish. But, I did not call any of you childish. I called your behavior childish. Here are my words exactly:
Quote:But, alas, I would never expect anything less than childish behavior from the residents of Illinois north of the I-80 corridorand anyone else who went to school in that same area.
I came here this week to talk football. I'm not very good at smack talk so I try to stick to talking about the teams and the games. Most of the Broncos fans who have visited your board want to talk football but all that they get, even when Todd is afraid WMU is going to lose because Franklin is not at 100%, Is "smack" talk.

John, check the start of the thread...a couple WMU fans showed their ass out the gates so the tussle began! plus a lil smack adds flavoring

If you did say that NIU is the worst 9 win team in the country, you may not be wrong. That, in and unto itself, is the definition of a true "program". NIU has won games this year because it has become accustomed to winning over the last several years. WMU may be the most complete team NIU has played with the exception of Arkansas. Fleck talks about taking away the opponents will; that won't happen.
NIU may not win this game, but this team will never stop fighting. If the Huskies find a way to win, it will go down as one of the most over achieving teams in program history. I am looking forward to a great game.

To all the NIU naysayers, whose loyalty sucks; I will repost the following...NIU has won games this year because it has become accustomed to winning over the last several years. We are sitting here questioning how this team is winning, and I think you are right. It has become or is currently a learned behavior. WIN FOR NIU

Great call right there, Djud.
