I have a proposition
After listening to Keith Easterwood this afternoon, his genius popped an idea into my head. Matt said something about Josh playing 10 guys just 4 minutes into the game. Here's my idea: (Cal did something similar) During practices before the game, tell the players they are competing against each other for playing time for the next game. Tell them that there will only be 7 players playing. Keep track of stats during practice like fouls, turnovers, assists, etc. (Josh already has managers do this). Then, for one game against Prairie View, stick with those 7 guys.
That's it.
Next game players are determined by the practices before the game.
Eventually you will determine consistency and have your core players within 6 games. By the time conference play starts, everyone will be clear.
From what I am reading, I see that it is one of two things:
1) lack of effort
or
2) We have a team full of D2 players
I think this will take care of determining which one it is.
Whichever it is; as one poster pointed out earlier, this year we will see if Josh Pastner really can coach. If he can make the tournament with this bunch, he can.

We have 3 high level players in Austin, Shaq, and King. Everyone else is a question mark.

My observations are there is very little teaching happening (& not just this year), especially fundamentals of defense, rebounding, taking care of the ball/discipline, shot selection, passing, positioning, spacing, outlet strategies, etc. A coach doesn't just say do those things & keep track of who does and doesn't. He has to teach what he wants fundamentally, require them in practice - this teaches consistent repetition, then teach schemes or sets. As the players execute as taught repeatedly, they can easily be evaluated for playing time.
I look at JP's record and say Ok but I see the teams on the floor and say no, he doesn't have what it takes & is not improving in effective coaching.

Obviously there is some vision impairment if you think this ^ dud is a high level player....He is the absolute worst!!!!! And for Pastner to run off Tarik in favor of starting this clown is the reason he should be canned above all else....Terrible decision maker/motivator/and game management ability...please resign like a respectable man
