Quote: Several dozen demonstrators took to the streets Monday in Clayton, Missouri, where a grand jury is determining whether to file criminal charges against a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black teen in August.

Protesters expressed anger that, 101 days after 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, it was still unclear what will happen to the officer, Darren Wilson.

The St. Louis area is on edge before the decision, which could come any day, and if no charges are brought, many fear a repeat of the sometimes violent protests that rocked Ferguson three months ago.

“We want an indictment. The cops don’t like it,” the group chanted on a day when the temperature was well below freezing as they marched outside the Clayton County courthouse where the grand jury is sitting.

“Something about the way Mike Brown was killed started a fire in me that I can’t ignore,” said one of the demonstration’s organizers, Dhorbua Shakur, 24.

He said he had little sympathy for area residents who are tired of the demonstrations, which left some businesses in Ferguson burned out.

The Governor’s order calls on the National Guard to support law enforcement in maintaining safety and protecting constitutional rights.

Nixon says the action is part of the effort to be prepared for anything that happens after the grand jury decides whether to charge police officer Darren Wilson with a crime for fatally shooting Michael Brown.

“The National Guard is well-suited to provide security at command posts, fire stations and other locations as well as perform other functions that will free up law enforcement officers to remain focused on community policing and protecting constitutional rights,” Nixon wrote in a statement.

If this were, say, John Kasich, Scott Walker, Chris Christie, making the basic assumption that there are going to be riots, there will be looting, businesses and buildings burned, cars flipped and Police assaulted, those Governors party affiliation wouldn't be front and center?

Spent the weekend in St.Louis with the wife's side of the family. Had dinner Saturday night around the corner from the courthouse in Clayton. Homeland Security vehicles were all over the place. People are really concerned. There were rumors that the GJ was going to release their findings yesterday. The tension is very real.

I have no doubt Obama wants violent protests and people killed so he can come in like a savior and make peace. Problem is I don't think those protesting like Obama and won't give a damn what he says.

No the real idiot is Brown, who robbed a store, would not follow police orders to get out of the street and then attacked and punched a cop (who is armed). Oh and his is dead, what an idiot. Wilson is alive and by all accounts probably will not be indicted.
