UConn's Diaco reflects on memorable season at Cincinnati
Pretty cool little write-up on our former DC. Sounds like he misses it here:
"It was awesome. I loved it. I lived in this little town just northeast of the city. I loved living there, my family loved it. It was great food. I am a foodie so great food in Cincinnati, awesome restaurants, awesome culture. It was very convenient with proximity to that large airport. It was an easy city to live in, very friendly, big city but kind of a midwest feel and I really liked that. I liked the climate too, it was just south enough where we got a little bit of snow from time to time but not much. The guys were tough guys, great fan support, great following and the team was fun to work with. They were tough, loved to play football, mentally and physically tough, contact tough. It was a fun team to coach, a lot of fun."

Good Lord...if that was a direct quote, I can't even imagine what it would be like to try to hold a conversation with him . But great to hear that in one year here he had that great of an experience.

He clearly has better memories of US than most of us have of HIM... His year here was terrible.
UConn can keep him.

First half of the season was good, last 5 game were bad on D, beat up and no depth.

agreed...and that 3-4 never really was a good fit for the defense we had imo
I think some of the problem that year was, the offense scored so darn quick the D was on the field all the time. It wasn't as big a deal early but you really saw it takes its toll as the season went on. Our D was swiss cheese by the end of that season.
I think our best overall D was the 2008 team or thereabouts.

It's called keeping his options open...not burning bridges. TT may need a DC in 2 years.

I've wondered if Tuberville heard that we bought that excuse and took a page from Kelly. If the defense is on the field all the time, that's on the defense not the offense.

Is there a stat put up any place that calculates the percentage of times a team gives up 3rd and "long" first downs? We seem to have trouble getting off the field in those situations - and while we were sitting and freezing last Thursday I started to count on one ECU drive they made a first down on third and 6, third and 8 and third and 10, right in a row on one drive.
