I've got Louisiana beating Louisiana in a barnburner.

Looking at that slate of games not many would excite me if I were a basketball fan. The Sunday games are not bad but most of the others are non D1 games.

Our game against Bye is going to be a thriller. (Brady correctly thought we'd do better with extra practices early, we play three games the entire month of November)

At least we only have the 1 beatdown game this year vs. Illinois. We might break 15 wins this year, especially with the 3-4 absolute tomato cans we play in non-conference.

UTA will be without a couple of big players. Greg Gainey will be out the first six games of the season and Anthony Walker will miss the first. Both violated team rules.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Illinois beats GS.

Blazers are breaking in a full slate of new faces and lost their exhibition. With all the stuff going around the athletic department, they'll need to be focused and prepared for ULM.

Friday 11/14 games:
Texas-Arlington at Bradley
Georgia Southern at Illinois

Saturday 11/15 games:
App. St at Ohio
ULM at UAB

These are the only games that remotely look interesting from the opening weekend. with the UTA-Bradley game being the most interesting.

It's opening weekend. It's like football opening with an FCS opponent to work out some kinks. I'm not too disappointed with this weekend's slate. It is what it is.

Illinois is somewhat of a baptism by fire. It'll take a few games to get our chemistry down. Maybe Hewitt and Wiedeman can play unworldly and keep it competitive.

Seattle is by no means a pushover team for TXST. They did have a good run there for awhile (04-09) and they are DI. (WAC)

If the Sun Belt is going to move up the ladder we need to start winning games vs. teams like Seattle, Bradley, and UAB.

Hopefully of the 5 games this weekend that are against other D1 programs we can pick up a couple of wins.

Looks like a decent weekend in that there are some nice D1 matchups, and the non-D1 games won't bring RPIs down.

I apologize in advance for what I am about to post...but

Southern Arkansas 69 Arkansas State 67 Final. The pinnacle of program embarrassment has been achieved by John Brady already.

Exhibition. Forget it. Happening a lot this year. MT lost to Martin Methodist. Memphis lost to Christian Brothers. UAB lost to UNC-Pembroke.

Oh...it wont be forgotten. Fans have been waiting for a good excuse to bring out the pitch forks, and were just provided a very good reason.

Watching a D2 school predicted to miss its own conference tournament dance on your midcourt logo is one of the more embarrassing things all 200 fans in attendance have probably ever witnessed.
