The outcome of most football games might be interpreted that way. Auburn feels that way about their loss at Miss State. Ole Miss about their loss to Auburn, ECU about their loss to Temple, Memphis about our loss to Houston, Houston about their loss to UCF, etc, etc...

You play the conference schedule the conference puts in front of you. We have no control over that. Maybe we are tougher mentally and physically because JF took us to Cali to play UCLA and we played Ole Piss. Nobody should apologize for our schedule. And Memphis beat Temple. Temple didn't beat themselves. Couldn't disagree more.

After the 75 yard run, the Tigers actually had a better offensive and defensive game than did Temple. I agree, though, it did not seem so while we were watching. Check the stats from the time that Temple made it 10-0. The Tigers outscored them 16-3 but did allow Temple to stay in it because we were not as efficient offensively as we have been. Credit goes to Temple for a great defense. We had more offensive yards (312 to 298) but had the ball by 2 minutes less. The stats actually do say we played pretty well. The penalties are our biggest mistake and they have to be corrected for us to go 1-0 next week.

What Tigers Owls
1st Downs 17 16
3rd down efficiency 5-17 6-17
4th down efficiency 0-0 0-0
Total Yards 312 298
Passing 230 140
Comp-Att 21-28 16-37
Yards per pass 8.2 3.8
Rushing 82 158
Rushing Attempts 40 32
Yards per rush 2.0 4.9
Penalties 6-51 4-30
Turnovers 1 2
Fumbles lost 1 1
Interceptions thrown 0 1
Possession 28:52 31:08

The xspirts have spoken: The game was 'ugly'.

It was ugly. Our radio analyst Chris Powers said it as well. Take a chill pill for once in your damn life and stop telling everyone how to act pops

I was just glad to see that we held onto the ball pretty well. After all the talk about Temple's ball-hawking D and ripping at the ball and everything, we managed to not give them that edge.

You may have a point to argue there, but it's also true we won the game. For a long time we had lost those games; on the road, conference game, important....

Those are quotes from that thread not me lol

Some games are going to be defensive especially very conservative games. Temple is a up and coming team like us and we will have more important games down the road. Was it ugly, damn right! Was it a win, damn right!

It's a shame that certain posters on here have to take every spur of the moment post on a game thread to insult other fans. Apparently the only thing we are even allowed to critique is the offensive line. Smh

lol. No one tells me what's ugly.

I watched our mistakes and disappointments not affect the trend.
I watched the other team's dudes with the ball scurry through our D line like little quails, while their receivers had iron hands.
I saw a desperation weakness in the other coach, when compared to ours.

And underneath all that, I could feel the strength of a rock-steady plan which affected an overall build to the Win.

When Jake came out for the kick...there was no doubt in my mind that game was a W.

I read the game thread as a joke. I can't actually take it serious.
