Does the MAC champ have a small shot at Peach Bowl?

You know who loves seeing that happen...young recruits the realize being at NIU means they can play on the big stage

Dont think we will make access bowl this year. Would be nice to finish in top 25 and lay foundation for a push next year.

Give me the biggest game possible. I can't believe the fans hoping for less due to lack of confidence. Who cares if we get beat? We're supposed to. Play our asses off and see what happens.

Committee watched tonight's entire game (according to a committee reporter)... Showed a great performance tonight, so that's a plus.

hey MD, start a thread next year asking if the Huskies have a shot at a national championship. Your at-first-insane threads always become facilitators of magic. After 2012, I'm not convinced tomorrow night will be a cakewalk for Boise. Stranger **** has happened.

I've heard about that 2012 thread but haven't seen it. How far back did MD bring up the Orange Bowl possibility?

I want Fresno to win so bad. Odd from last year right??
We need Marshall to be non-impressive too. Its not us in the MAC West deciding what's deserving.
If Niu keeps this gear up (which I thought would happen earlier in the year) , you may have a jealous Jordan Lynch in early Jan. :)

+1000! I for one miss MD's games and scenarios we need to happen and his BCS calculations (which always turned out to be close to spot on)

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed when MD announced he wouldn't be doing his rankings this year.

Todd, for the love of God, give up the Marshall stuff. You're trolling at this point.
Especially after last night, if fresno pulls it off tonight, we're in, and no 2,500 word post from you is gonna change that.

OK, out of spite then, root for Marshall to have a Dominant 2nd half and win by 20 here. I mean, it doesn't matter, right? You're acting as if every analyst is saying that NIU's past Marshall and this CUSAC game result means nothing. I wish! As of right now, it's looking just fine as Marshall's unimpressive. Hopefully they lose -- or maybe win by last second FG in a sloppy win possibly.
Fresno in the Boise State game though:
- Fresno's on a 3 game winning streak
- Beat San Jose St (3-9) by 14
- Beat @Nevada (7-5) by 20
- Beat Hawaii by 7
They played @Boise State earlier this year and lost by (only) 10. After looking more close, I'd amp it up to a 10-15% chance that Fresno upsets Boise.

Marshall and NIU were close coming into this week. With NIU dominating and Marshall struggling (possible loss), NIU would be picked over Marshall. Now its down to Fresno State beating Boise State.
I think Boise gets the bid over us even in an ugly win. The Central Michigan (L) is really killing us now. Not only losing a home game, but now may prevent us from a big bowl. If we would have beat CMU, we would be in.

Can't worry about the CMU loss. It forced the team to play urgent from there on out. If not for that loss we might have lost a more important game down the road.

The most important thing is NIU has now kept its program contending for a New Years Day bowl for several years.
The fact that a G5 school has to win its conference championship for that New Year's slot puts any school with a strong record in contention right down to Championship week. NIU with 5 straight West titles can go out and tell recruits that they are a legitimate NYD bowl contender.

CMU really has your number, don't they? This year wasn't the first time they threw a monkey wrench into your plans.

Bcs guru tweet: "With a win over the team that beat B1G West champ (and possibly B1G champ), NIU should be ahead of all AAC teams and behind only Boise."
"NIU did all it could to impress committee with excellent #gamecontrol in a 51-17 rout of BGSU. Now ball is on Boise's blue turf."
