I don't want USA or Texas State, but if I had to choose between those two it would be USA. At least basketball is on their radar.
Losing UAB would be a big hit to CUSA's credibility as a basketball conference, and we don't have much of that left as it is now.

I vote for Eastern Kentucky. CUSA can complete the directional school compass: North, Southern, Western, Middle......

PLEASE....let's stop this discussion right now about who replaces whom. We need to be pulling together and ALL pulling for UAB against this. Just stop.

I think every SBC program is fully aware of what it means if UAB drops. For a whole variety of reasons.
Its why the UAB thread is 20 pages long on our board...the worst possible scenario for many of us in the SBC is CUSA needing only one team. Take the wrong team and you could have 3 or 4 others who aren't looking for a way out currently, looking for a way out.
We recommend JMU. They are ready and willing to take a CUSA invite and would be a great addition for your league.
There is also a 3 page thread on the A10 board. UAB BB is very strong and respected. Hope the best for UAB.

I'm 100% behind UAB. I'll even donate to the cause if need be. I refuse to let the dark forces of the SEC dictate who is in my football conference

The day South Alabama gets into CUSA is the day I stop following CUSA.
Georgia State would get all of our schools much needed exposure in Atlanta. That is a presence that's lacking.

Yeah that's exactly what we need if UA were to pull the plug on UAB. A program that has never beat a IA program and escaped with a 1 point win against a school in the 1st year of transition to IAA.
No thanks....

Yeah, I argued against Georgia State for a long time, but I've given up on the goals that made me think they weren't acceptable. Apparently Banowsky has, too. I'm not going to name names, but is Georgia State any less legit than the bottom 2 or 3 teams in CUSA? And would you rather play nobody in Atlanta or way out in BFE, i.e. Texas?

I chuckled at the AAC guys last year saying that UTSA would be a perfect add for them (simply because they were doing so well). This year they suck donkey balls and there's not a word posted about them.
It's a good thing conference commissioners working with university presidents make realignment decisions and not the fickle fans.

Dude, I drove a stake through that BOTbot on the main board on UAB's behalf. Fight the real enemy. Bryant Junior and his buds want to paint themselves crimson to rally the 85 Percent behind their criminal enterprise, and when you make it about "the bammers," you help Bryant Junior get away with it.

RE: B-Club Members ask President Watts for support of Bill Clark and UAB Football
We've bent over backward not to make it about the BoT or UA, but about what's best for UAB. The problem is that the BoT is the root of the problem. We can't fire our President without their approval. We can't do diddlysquat without their approval.
We can't leave the UA System without a vote from the legislature - which is chock full of UA Law grads. The Governor is in PBJ's pocket.
The worst part? All the SOB's have to do is drag their feet. "Study's not quite done yet, maybe in a couple of weeks." Once football season is over, if there is not solid progress, a commitment to the football program and an extension to Bill Clark's contract in front of him, he's going to take a job elsewhere and we'll be F'd. Our players will follow him or transfer somewhere else.
Given what's happening, what coach is going to take the job? A nobody or a failed has-been looking to run out the string. Assuming that they don't simply announce that the program is closing effective immediately.
All we can do is fight like hell, refuse to let them knife us from the shadows, and hope we can come up with enough money and influence to dent the Board, who frankly does not give a damn what anyone says or does except for the very top people at UAT.
We're so screwed. The worst part? These slime are screwing with the lives and futures of the kids.
The only thing I can think of to ask you guys to do is to buy tickets to the game tomorrow and the Marshall game in the hope that increased sales will help. The tickets are only $15.
If they bring this off I'll hate bammer till I die. I think I'll buy a six pack and drive over to Elmwood Cemetary and pee on Bear's grave.
