RE: GaState (FakeGSU) at App State - Game Week Thread
I really don't think weather will affect this game much at all. I do think, however, we win by 14+. But only because I think we're playing much better than they are.
RE: GaState (FakeGSU) at App State - Game Week Thread
It all comes down to Woody and what scheme he runs. If we play the Troy scheme, we win by 2 TDs. Of we play the Liberty scheme, we win or lose by a narrow margin in a shoot out.

I'm pretty sure some Southern fan made a pretty cool graphic that took our logo and Zuul-ified it. It might be on this board somewhere. (Probably near the pink GSU panther.)

I still think app wins by 10+
I just like App when they are not playing RGSU. The week before the RGSU/App game ITS ON, but I can pull for them in other games unless we are tied for the conference champions then they have to lose one for ol' TALON! But till then PARTY ON APPY State.

I like the Zoul picture. It looks more fierce & more metropolitan or Atlanta ish.

As has been stated, our secondary has really struggled. Unless we get pressure on their QB and into their backfield early and often, the winner will likely be whoever has the ball last.

In short, we finally stopped that prevent crap, and actually made the qb uncomfortable. If we do that against GS, will win by couple of scores, if we go back to zone, backing off receivers, only rushing 3, the GS qb will have a field day, and will will have to score 50 just to have a chance to win. I don't think we will have a problem scoring, we just cant go back to that prevent crap on defense.
I also noticed against Troy that the App offense ran a lot of 2 and 3 back sets with lots of different motion pre snap. The offense was a lot less predictable than with all the one back sets and the TE and/or FB was really key in setting up the running backs. On defense, App must figure out a way to get pressure on Arbuckle or they will get their scoring opportunities too.

I know we usually have a look-a-like thread but this is just too uncanny to not post.
The SOTS have ripped off:
GT's offense (a stretch)

If you are going to smack talk with 60s TV references, at least get it right. The Beverly Hillbillies were from Arkansas. Feel free to try again with a Goomer, Goober, Ernest T Bass, or Barney Fife joke, if you like.

Many of our fans thought the weather would play a role in the USA game...didn't quite work out as planned. I don't think the weather will have an impact in terms of providing one team an advantage. I'm also not sure the Troy game has any relevance to this game. Ga State is a much more prolific offensive team than Troy proved to be. Troy provided no real long ball threat, obviously Arbuckle is more than capable of connecting on the big play.
