No, the problem is government abusing its power. It happens every day in every state. And the federal government is the worst abuser.

If these pastors have a shred of integrity or principles...they will simply refuse to comply.

Why is she only going after Christians?

Isn't Islam 100x more "anti-gay" than Christianity? Aren't gays executed in Islamic countries? If she's serious about this, she needs to investigate some mosques.

Things like this are amazing.
Would ask how stupid they can be,
but seems pretty obvious.

The Mayor is probably afraid of Muslims. Some of The Extreme ones have been known to Behead Gays and Straights.

RE: Wow amazing, City of Houston Demands Pastors Turn Over Sermons
Hard to believe this all came about because of a bathroom ordinance:

The subpoenas are just the latest twist in an ongoing saga over the Houston’s new non-discrimination ordinance. The law, among other things, would allow men to use the ladies room and vice versa. The city council approved the law in June.

The Houston Chronicle reported opponents of the ordinance launched a petition drive that generated more than 50,000 signatures – far more than the 17,269 needed to put a referendum on the ballot.

However, the city threw out the petition in August over alleged irregularities.

Yep, they should disclose as much information as
Christ did when He was subpoenaed by Pilate.

The mayor is demanding that sermon notes, emails, videos, and any negative comments about homosexuality or the mayor herself, be turned over to her. If the pastors refuse, the mayor has threatened to charge them with contempt of court and possible fines or jail time.

I can't for the life of understand why these Pastors would hold the Mayor hostage.

How are they holding the mayor hostage?

"The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor."

I still don't see any hostage taking.

This isn't pro-gay. It's anti-Christian.

There's no "real" gay agenda. From the beginning it's been nothing more than an attack on Christianity. You notice they never attack the Islamic religions?

Im all for them having their rights but when you step into religion you're going to far, we should be allowed to keep our religion at the least.
