Way too much BFS in this thread, lol. We gave up five turnovers, and still lost by only 4, with a chance at the end, against a decent team that had just lost to UCF on a last second fumble at the goal line.
Our toughest games are behind us. We will likely be favored in 5 of the remaining 6, at least. The world isn't ending yet.

Fyp
Bad teams can find our weak points but are so bad they will not be able to expose them like the good teams we played recently. The majority of oour games will be Austin Peay or Middle level. Lets just take care of our biz.

Houston is much better than any remaining team on our schedule. With a two weeks off to rest up and think about that Houston loss, I'll be surprised if we don't curb stomp SMU next Saturday.
PJ is still finding himself, as he's been hampered by an ankle injury all season. The NCAA declared Florida transfer Colin Thompson eligible to play immediately, and he too is trying to find his way, as Tulsa was just his second game at Temple. Our top safety returned against Tulsa from an injury sustained during the first game. The guy who will likely be our top WR for the next few years was just declared eligible to play immediately after transferring from Hawaii, and played on special teams against Tulsa.
A lot of injuries, transfer situations, and really trying to find some cohesion on offense. We finally opened up some running lanes against Tulsa, and sophomore RB Jahad Thomas rushed 14 times for 152 yards. We've split carries equally among 3 RBs, and our presumed top RB is out for the season with a back injury.

Cal played everyone who bought into his idea of "miserables". Cal's coaching peers, the media, and college bball fans at large didn't like Cal then and still don't now. It wasn't because he was/is a winner, it was how he did it. K and Izzo are winners, but people generally like them. To deflect negative attention away from himself from within the fan base, Cal basically made the rhetorical argument that those who were critical of him didn't want the program to succeed. In essence, he was saying the "miserables" hated Memphis, not him. Some (not all) Memphis fans bought into that hook line and sinker. Some of you still do. If people don't like Pastner, you'll say they hate Memphis and should go root for someone else. That's perpetuating Cal's idea of a "miserable".

Miserables did not criticize him for wining dirty, they criticized the schedule, the style of play and everything but recruiting dirty. It is funny how Miserables are still responding to something said years ago..

SMU escaped Week 7 without a loss to Open Date, though sources tell me the Fighting Byes did return the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
7. UConn (1-5)
The Huskies fell to Tulane in a Battle of the Beatens. On Sunday, I printed out the conference standings and left them in the kitchen. When my wife saw them, she said, "I didn't think these two teams were in ACC." I explained to her that she was correct. She had misread it, and they are in AAC, not the ACC, or for that matter the CCA, CIAA, SAC, MSCAC, NESCAC or NASCAR.
9. Tulsa (1-5)
We're joined this week by a second member of the American Athletic Conference of American Athletics. The Golden Hurricane made landfall in Philly but were eventually blown away from Temple and suffered their fifth consecutive loss. Their lone win came opening weekend via two OT's against their hey-our-name-sounds-the-same-as-yours friends from Tulane. If you're scoring at home, TU beat the other TU in OT but fell to the third TU in OCT.

Doesn't matter if we have 5 turnovers a game. Austin Peay would have beaten us if we turned it over as many times as we did against Houston.

We scored only 3 points in second half of game. And never really threatened their goal line. We were not in the game once they took the lead..
