Could it have been larger - yes but I thought the same thing when we had Danny, Moe and Deangelo.
Did they ever announce attendance? Go Tigers!

They didn't...unless it was after Lynch's last INT. But, it was posted above. 32,784. Sad, really when you consider the situation.

RE: Attendance guess for the Houston game
We have a good team, not great, but a whole lot better than two yrs. ago. Now if u want to get to the next level u have to brave that damp 62 degree weather and support our team. I would guess The q.b. from starkville saw a packed crowd in the rain at the auburn loss. That Dude is not a lock, sun shine pumpers so suck it up and go enjoy our team. Yep im a TROLL, with a road map to the big time!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Attendance guess for the Houston game
Mullen at Moo commented during Gameday that it was important that the fans were showing support even while they were struggling. He mentioned that it mattered that they did not wait until the team won big.
Fans absolutely have the right to do whatever they want. However, not attending has consequences. If you choose not to attend and the team struggles longer than expected, they are related. If this is about sports and a football option, so be it, stay of the couch. If this is about MEMPHIS and our University of Memphis...and for many it is...the support absolutely makes a difference.
Our university. Get it?

Attendance last night was second highest in the AAC last week. First place belongs to the UCF / BYU game played on a nice Thursday night at a convenient time on national TV.

I wish it would have been 40k+ BUT I can remember much smaller crowds in the recent past.....
A win at SMU with Tulsa coming in here for homecoming should equal a better crowd (unless rain is in the forecast?).
It'll be on Halloween so that could make for an interesting game day experience if Bowen wants to pull out all the stops.

If people were 'hungry' for a winning college football team then they would have been there. Just blowing out Cincy and on the verge of going 4-2 should have had a much larger crowd.

RE: Attendance guess for the Houston game
Why does anyone get worked up over this?
I told you it would be a smaller crowd due to fall break and rain. 32k would be a dream for most AAC teams, except ECU and UCF [notice what they have in common].
The QB from Starkville was busy talking to other recruits about coming to Memphis during the game, especially a certain RB from Panola and some beefy linemen.
If you are concerned about attendance do what I do and talk positively about attending games and invite people to every game on your dime, after they come, show them how to buy their own tickets for the next game.

This week:
@UCF--41,547
@Memphis--32,784
@USF--31,561
@Temple--25,340
@Tulane--23,076
I don't post this to say we have great attendance. I think we should have done better last night and shouldn't be content ranking high in the AAC, just that little by little our attendance is showing far better than in the past--as is the team.

I see this as a disturbing trend. After the point in the schedule where all of our P5 opponents have been played, I get the feeling the average Joe is saying "what is the relevance of the remainder of the games?"

RE: Attendance guess for the Houston game
I agree. The Spring Break timing was unfortunate but unavoidable. Rain kept alot of folks away also - especially my friends with babies and toddlers.
I think all fan bases deal with this.
A history Winning encourages folks to attend. We appear to be working this out. :)
