I hope to see brescacin and turner get lots of targets. Is there any good reason as to why Jordan Huff doesn't get more carries? He's got a good build and seems plenty quick.

He's playing behind two fifth year seniors.

Put yourselves in the shoes of Jay Niemann and co and consider that CMU has a very good RB and a very good WR.

Which do you focus more on stopping if you're the NIU defense? Personally, I gear up to stop the run first and foremost, but what would you do?

RE: Looking at CMU
I'd double Davis over the top with safety help (Moore not Durante) then I'd let the front 7 do what they've done all year.

Rawls is good, but he couldn't hold Jonathan Williams or Alex Collins jock and NIU did well with those two.

Just my two cents but NIU is good vs the run so focus on the area of bigger concern. I have faith in this defense vs CMU.

Stop the run first but gotta give help with the #1 WR. It took us til late in the Vegas game to figure that out with a late interception. Without that play we lose.

RE: Looking at CMU
Should be a good matchup. Looks like CMU has caught a bit of fire with Titus at 100% and Rawls in his groove. Right now, I think CMU is more a team that beat Purdue and Ohio soundly. Not saying they are the class of the MAC, but the team didn't exactly have its top 2 guys against Syracuse and Kansas.

Anyway, NIU has gotten in a bit of a funk since the UNLV game. Not sure if its the QB situation, losing Lewis, or the RB's banged up? Common sense tells you right now to pick CMU since we are coming off a big win while NIU isn't on their game, even though NIU does have a better record. But the last time we beat NIU, ironically NIU's last MAC regular season loss, was in 2011.

Toss up game to me, lean toward NIU.

How would you describe Cooper Rush as a QB at this point? Is he consistent? Can he be counted on to make the big throws when it counts? Is he prone to mistakes or bad throws?

He is a lot like Ryan Radcliff, out previous QB. He is very good and can look like an NFL QB some days, then a JV QB the next. Great arm and typically dosn't make poor decisions, but he misses a lot of reads. Our offense was putrid against Kansas and Syracuse, which I think show she can't really win a game by himself.

I posted on the CMU board that I think we can win a close game, but that is with the obvious cup of kool aid. However, he is going to have to make plays for us to win. Obviously NIU knows Rawls and Davis are both beasts.

I think ACRB and Jordan Huff are going to make a dynamic backfield even after Cam and Akeem graduate. Was impressed by both of them tonight. Huff appears to be a bigger dude that has some speed as well.

I DO NOT WHY JORDAN HUFF IS NOT GETTING ANY PLAYING TIME; BUT THAT BACKFIELD NEEDS SHOW FRESH LEGS!!! WE ARE GOING TO MESS AROUND AND THAT YOUNG MAN WILL TRANSFER......

THAT DUDE IS EXPLOSIVE!!!!! WE NEED TO FIND HIM SOME CARRIES....DAM ASAP!!!

NIU has stopped the run really well this year. Until somebody really gashes us (I don't count Arkansas), just keep doing what you've been doing.

RE: Looking at CMU
Essentially, I see this like the Toledo vs WMU game. NIU -- don't be Toledo and bring your C game (which, to be fair, the rain helped with that). If you do, CMU very well may beat you.

I think this game will be a test for Carey. CMU, IMO, is going to show up ready to win. I think NIU fans should hope that NIU was looking forward toward CMU and didn't care about Kent which is why it was so close.

If NIU plays sound and strong with some rhythm, they'll win. NIU's run D will be able to hold, but look out for CMU passing -- they'll score points. CMU's D is not grand. Ohio has really no O, so don't take that as a brick-wall CMU D.

NIU is the better team, it's @NIU -- CMU is dangerous, and Carey knows this very well. If NIU executes well and wins, the fans can breathe a nice sigh of relief about Carey being the HC. If Not? Oh man, it's going to be a wacky West finish.

RE: Looking at CMU
Is mofo Jordan huff or jordan Huffs family, roommate or something?

If a kid is gonna transfer because he's behind two of the better backs in the conference who are seniors that's an impatient kid that is being selfish.

As for the game, I'm not saying CMU is the team that beat Purdue and Ohio or the team that lost to Syracuse and Kansas. btw all those teams suck. They are somewhere in between.

Talent all over the field NIU is better, but I'd consider last game a funk not arkansas they are good.

Lean towards NIU because they're good enough against the run and I don't think a WR alone can beat NIU.

I'm not complaining because Rawls is on the team and NIU faces him, but does anyone else think that was a light punishment? All teams differ in punishment and NIU can certainly have given light punishments but I felt Rawls punishment was a tad small.

Anyway good luck to CMU
