Has anybody else noticed a striking lack of American media coverage for the events in China?
It seems that Fox News is the biggest culprit here. Last night, their homepage had a story on ISIS, the man who jumped the fence, something political, the Dallas Ebola patient, and how to make an invisibility cloak for less than $100.
I couldn't help but wonder why they would not cover something so important in world events.
CNN and MSNBC also failed to talk much about it or report much.
It doesn't shock me, corporate American news isn't there to provide news, it is there to make money. We like seeing ISIS get blown up, people eat up the hysteria over ebola, and other national security issues.

Yea, all true. I think there is a deeper question here though, and that's the one I'm trying to get to. The Chinese thing is still great news from an entertainment type view. That fact makes me wonder what the ideological or economic reason behind the total failure is. Or, is our news just that incompetent from top to bottom?

You and I aren't the target market. By being the sorts that would post in this room, we are interested in things other than just ISIS have JDAMs dropped on them, we are interested in how the world works. Most people don't pay attention to that stuff. Our news needs to cater to the lowest common denominator.
