Congrats UAB. You kicked our arse in the second half. The game had everything, opening kickoff return, int return, missed XP, etc. I thought we would cruise after first half, but your D came out and stopped us in the 3rd qtr and put up points.

BTW, all of the local school districts were on fall break, plus WKU students were on fall break. Usually much better tailgate and crowd. No home games in Sept hurts.

You forgot our defender taking the ball out of the hands of a Hilltopper receiver deep in WKU's territory in the 1st quarter and it being ruled a complete pass...even though it was in the receiver's hands somewhat less than a full second. That and Howard's "fumble" more than earned us some payback call if that's even what the phantom offsides was.

The non-call on the offsides and the pass interference during the same series really took the wind out of the WKU offense. The reason we lost was we couldn't stop the UAB offense. They were on the field 36 min compared to 23 min for the Toppers.
When you gain 508 yds of offense in 23 minutes you should win but when your defense gives up 581 yds you expect to get drubbed.
