I think it will be a good game. It normally is regardless of sport.

I am less worried about your defense than I am your offense.

You guys should get to see a lot of Jarvis Cooper in the backfield. He played the whole half against Ole Miss with our first two RBs out. I think it will be a lot of Cooper with Wallace and Davis spotting.

Our new D-Coordinator has a plan to defend them. Let the RBs run up and down the field so much that they get tired out in the second half.

us too
03-lmfao i am definetly worried about our offense. If it had been a grass field our qb would need a new jersey because the grass stains on his back wouldnt have come out with industrial strengh detergent. We lost 2 running backs and our receivers acted like the ball was a hot potato. their defense ran by our offensive lineman so fast it looked like they were standing around waiting on a bus.

If Jarvis Cooper starts then will he will average 7 yards per carry.

Memphis takes this one. Cincinatti has no D.

Cincy does have a legit O though.

They do, but if Memphis steps up on d like it did for three quarters last night I think we can handle them

Beat us and you have our respect. Close losses are meaningless. We have accomplished quite a bit more over the last decade than Memphis. I am not going to marginalize your close losses, but at the same time I am not going to elevate you atop the Cincy team. To be the man, you got to beat the man.

What Cincy has accomplished over the past decade doesn't apply to next week. Maybe you'd be wise to find out where the two teams ranked after their first three games of the season before declaring Cincy as "the man."

Total Offense
26 Memphis 498 ypg
43 Cincinnati 458.7

Total Defense
35 Memphis 337 ypg
122 Cincinnati 545.7

Scoring Offense
13 Memphis 44.7 ppg
29 Cincinnati 39

Scoring Defense
28 Memphis 19.7 ppg
105 Cincinnati 36

Rushing Offense
25 Memphis 242.7 ypg
109 Cincinnati 105.7

Rushing Defense
33 Memphis 116 ypg
117 Cincinnati 240.7

Passing Offense
9 Cincinnati 353 ypg
51 Memphis 255.3

Passing Yards Allowed
55 Memphis 221 ypg
115 Cincinnati 305

The numbers preceding the name is their ranking amongst all FBS schools.

The only category Cincy out-performed Memphis was in "passing offense." 97.7 ypg better than Memphis. They also allowed their opponents 84 ypg more than Memphis.

On the other side of the ball, Memphis averaged 137 ypg more rushing while holding their opponents to 124.7 ypg less than Cincy.

You're welcome to dispute the numbers I've provided but they came directly from the official stats of the NCAA. Maybe the performance by Cincy in the other nine years of the "past decade" will help on the field next week. Or... you could act a little less arrogant, like the rest of the folks participating in the discussion.

Bambu using dramatically inflated stats from a 63-0 game from austin peay that averages 1 win a season from the last 5 seasons and currently on a 16 game losing streak rank, with a good chance to finish ranked the worst D1 team 04-cheers

i said it before i think memphis will win, but those are some ridiculously skewed stats

Cincy ran up 58 points on Toledo; a mere 5-point difference. Both teams played two lower-tier teams and one ranked team. Ohio St was ranked #22 against Cincy while UCLA was ranked #11 against Memphis. Austin Peay (0-4) hasn't won a game but neither has Miami (OH). They are currently 0-5 but lost by only 7 points to Cincy. How does that justify "skewed" in your opinion?

Not trying to be an a__, but I don't understand why so many people on this board over the years get this wrong. It is CINCINNATI - Go Reds & Bengals and............. no to the yucky Bearcats.

You shouldn't be surprised when Memphis wins. You should be thankful you don't have to play Memphis this year.

Let's not go crazy

You are kidding yourself if you think you have seen anything close to that Ole Miss defense . How can you watch that team and think you would have done anything better ? I have news for you that OSU team you played got beat by VT. They are not that good and will not win the B1G that is really down. Ole Miss plays in by far the best division in the best conference in America. You would have gotten your a$$ handed to you in a hat by them. I am not saying we will mop the floor with you ,I am not saying we will win . To compare Ole Miss to OSU is rediculous .I truly hope you get a chance to play an SEC west team this year . I would love for your team to show us how it's done.

Coach on the rise - Fuente

Coach on the demise - Tuberville

Big game; could be an inflection point for both teams.
