We hang 28 with a 7 called back on a top 20 team. Not seeing all the Memphis love. Need more than a close loss to UCLA and a 3 touchdown loss to Ole Miss to impress.

It's not?

Our D Line and linebackers are as good as anyone. That's our strength. Nobody can run the ball on us. Our DB group is average at best. That's the weakness

I saw that in your post on the Cincy game. Hopefully staff can shore that up in a few years

I am not saying that at all. I am saying our offense is that good. Should be a fun game on Saturday.

I am not going to marginalize your close losses, but at the same time I am not going to elevate you atop the Cincy team. To be the man, you got to beat the man.

Was that meant for humor?

If either of us had to identify "the man" in this conference, surely we would both agree that it's ECU at the moment. None of us have a resume to top theirs. We're not playing ECU next, we're playing the Bearcats.

I'm not saying that we're going to win that game, but I'm not going to be arrogant and attempt to elevate our accomplishments to something that I can't back up either.

Yes, if you insert a quote from Rick Flair, it is meant for humor. I guess I should have said Whoooooooo!

I think he meant that more along the lines of the fact that UC and UCF are the only teams with any national recognition, and UC has a longer, more established tradition of such (yes I realize referring to 8 years as "tradition" is questionable, but what we've done in those 8 years has made us a recognizable brand). If you want to get that, you've got beat those who have it.

Actually, I have to admit that I was so taken back by "the man" reference, I missed this line, which would have tied some of it together better for me.

Quote:We have accomplished quite a bit more over the last decade than Memphis.

I have no problem admitting that the Bearcats have a much, much better recent history than the Tigers. Seriously, who doesn't?

I expect a dogfight from beginning to end.

RE: Cincy vs Memphis
my opinion on the game...unlike most people here im going with memphis..

memphis has shown they have offense vs bad defenses (like uc's) and their defense might actually be the strong point of the team, so they should be able to slow UC down a bit

UC has the advantage that memphis defense's strength is run D, and the weakness is through the air, but memphis has the dline to atleast put some pressure on a guy that has only started 3 games.. i expect uc to score..

but i still see memphis winning

We don't need your respect. We know the team we have and it's pretty damn good through 4 games

That's fine, we have come to an impasse. Just an Fyi, Vegas has us as a 7 point favorite. Are you still damn good after another close loss?

You know half of that is just being the home team right. I love to see what UC would of done last night to Ole Miss.

It's a toss up game. Could go either way. If our pass rush is effective should be a good day for Memphis.

Yea reality, you are gonna lose. We are better. We have a better football school. Our city only manages to provide as a minor league system to most of the SEC. We have a history of being on par with some great schools. We have been down as of late. Schools like Cincinnati and others want to pat us on the back and say good job for having a good football program.

Time is over for all that.
