Any school that gets out (into the P5) -- would be doing itself a huge favor. There is NO incentive for any program to stay and wait for the AAC to rise to prominence (because it never will).

Remember, schools are not invited OUT because of football wins for a couple seasons... They need to demonstrate that they can produce entertainment money (*cough Rutgers). Cincy is in a league of it's own -- bringing in funds/tv market across all athletics. UCONN arises seconds.

The Old Big East was FAR superior to the current AAC. No contest. However, it was on the outside edge.

Oh I agree Bear, 100% agree in fact. It's a good thing this isn't ECU's first rodeo. We were having seasons like this (even bigger) before 3 of the AAC schools even had football programs.04-cheers

LMAO! You two should get a room. 03-shhhh

NEWSFLASH: EVERY CONFERENCE is pretty much dominated by 2 (sometimes 3) teams... >>TOP HEAVY<< At the end of the year, nobody give a chit about the rest.

I could have sworn we were "relevant" last year.

The sole reason we have these douchebags posting is because of the $ we signed for when the conference membership was in flux. The equity 5 narrative that came out of that situation has given these people bait to come here and think they can talk down to the membership.

Are you serious? The combined income/athletic budget amongst any P5 conference versus that of the AAC -- is rediculous.

ESPN's AAC coverage is primarily any P5 team that happens to be playing an AAC team.

Just as USF, UCONN, and Cincy ---> The next round of alignment will scoop up the best AAC schools, and it will leave the rest of the conference near collapse. It has been happening to the Big East for years.

I think the only way ECU gets in to a P5 conference, and its longshot, is if the SEC were to take UNC. This would open up a position for ECU to be considered for the ACC, but that's not even a given. The SEC is not going to take ECU. Unfortunately for ECU, the SEC doesn't look at wins over UNC and 40 to 50 thousand in attendance as all that impressive. ECU would be a good fit for the ACC, but it would take some help to get there.

I love this conference with my undergrad & grad school in the same conference. Seeing UConn in Dallas is a blast. And I like all of the other schools in the conference.

But if UConn was invited into the B1G, or SMU was invited into the Big 12, I'd be happy and relieved.
