Rice will be the best 0 - 3 team you face in a long while.

Not sure how USM is supposed to get any benefit from not being on any television channel other than some obscure channel on satellite tv. At this rate, we'd be better off just broadcasting our games online for free to get some exposure. Or maybe CUSA should get on that for it's teams so we can actually stay relevant.

Someone explain the craptastic penalty against Nunez? So now "trash talking" is a penalty? That was pathetic for the officials to call that.

And again, someone teach Triplett that he's supposed to be a ****ing Team leader and he yet again has a costly turnover that in effect took us out of the game.

USM better than last year. Program moving in right direction.

For Rice, question is whether team improved or not.

Great to get a W. Question is whether this same Rice game would have gotten a W against earlier games. I can argue team went both forwards and backwards tonight.

Positives.
- Hull stretch. Talked about getting him touches w his 4.4 speed and stretching D. He is a playmaker and finally healthy. Great to see.
- Davis ran hard. Great night.
- OL looked good (again).
- Liked coaching staff putting in Farrimond for the short FG/XP game. Good adjustment
- Great call w/ Celia for late TD.
- Edmonson had another good game considering DJ health.
- DL looked better. Part Covington, part new faces, part opponent, but bottom line is that much better than ODU.
- Loved Hamilton on Kickoff return. Great adjustment.

Negatives
- Miscommunication and lack of speed in secondary continues. Finner, Espinosa, Fuhrman, etc. all exposed. We were lucky that we were playing a mediocre QB with mediocre WR's. Probably half dozen plays tonight were we were busted but USM gave us charity. NOTE TO ALL C-USA...if you play Rice, take deep shots.
- DJ is not healthy. Not having him pull zone read, bad throws, etc. was apparent. He is a warrior but clear he was a long way from 100% tonight.
- A few lucky plays tonight. Game very different if USM does not have penalties, does not have drops, does not have bad execution. Competition really matters. Same exact plays tonight compared to A&M and ND are TD's but are drops, penalties, etc. against USM.
- Got to get Taylor in offense next week. Shocked to see that TD drop.
- Punt coverage teams still shaky.

Glad to get a W. Hopefully builds confidence. Hawaii is not a good road team. Army lost to Yale today. Rice should be 3-3 going into NT game. With UTSA losing, should open-up the West again. It is wide open race.

There seems to be a lot of disappointment among USM fans, but I'm pretty optimistic right now. This is not the Ellis Johnson team, nor is it the Allan Bridgford team. The yellow helmets are gone. We're 3 for our last 6. I don't have much confidence in the people above Monken in the chain-of-command, but the football team is definitely showing signs of life.

(And yeah, the officials last night were dipshits. There was a clear pro-Rice bias).

The officials called a niformly bad game. i saw some bad calls against Rice, too.

But what happened here, I think, is that your guy said something personal to the official directly, and none of them will accept that.

Can C-USA officials find words in their vocabulary that are that big?

Pretty much whats happened is we had bad officials who followed teams to the american. Now we have had to replace them with even worse crews.

Officiating seems to follow all the logic of the conference office. This has become the old southwest conf and the schools not located in texas are arkansas.

That particular twelve letter word starts with mother, and is fairly well known. But maybe he just called him a dumb***. Or questioned if his parents were married. Whatever, it did appear that he may have said something to or about the official.

It's rarely necessary to ascribe to conspiracy something easily explained by incompetence.
