As a counterpoint, Coach Tuberville is making P5 money while coaching in the G5. He made a conscious decision to relocate within close proximity to his wife's immediate family. It would seem an easier path to put (and keep) a program atop the G5, earning some great bowl bids in the process, than attempting to rebuild a P5 living on past glory. He's in an ideal spot: less competitive pressure in the G5 and anticipating a move to P5 status in the future. Any coach can leave at anytime but I feel UC is better positioned to hold TT than the university was with D'antonio, Kelly or Jones. And beside January, February and March; what's not to like about one of American's most livable major league cities?

Good post and I agree except that I think you are actually under-selling the situation. You don't have to compare the current situation to UC previously for it to seem favorable - you can compare Tubs stability at UC to any current coach at any FBS school in the country and Tubs at UC will be at or near the top of the list.

Anything can happen, but I'll take the likelihood of Tubs being at UC say 5, 6 or 7 years from now over the likelihood of possibly any other current FBS coach being at their school that long. I hope recruits and fans realize that and UC is able to take advantage of the incredible (relatively speaking) stability UC has at head football coach (and that goes double for basketball btw).
