Miami (FL) Fanbase - Cataclysmo - 09-14-2014 05:18 PM

So I was curious to see what other teams on our schedule thought about our performance, and i stumbled across this...

And I thought Cincinnati sports fans could be pessimistic...

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - Boca Rocket - 09-14-2014 06:42 PM

Golden is close to being canned.

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - CincyCatz1224 - 09-14-2014 06:54 PM

Well, here's a glimpse of their fanbase. Probably NSFW

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - Racinejake - 09-14-2014 07:25 PM

Wont be easy. Duke Johnson might run for 300 yards on us.

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - Bearcats#1 - 09-14-2014 07:55 PM

we better figure out some defense pretty dang quick

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - eroc - 09-14-2014 08:08 PM

As much as this should flatter, for any of us that ventured over to the illini message boards before our trip to Champaign last season, it was much of the same, and it all went horribly wrong on game day. Bottom line, if you saw their game against Arkansas State, their QB looked infinitely better, and their WR corp is pretty top notch as well. And, as Racine mentioned previously, they have Duke Johnson, who might be the highest caliber RB the Bearcats have ever faced. it's a winnable game but i view it as toss up.

Holy s***! That's messed up right there...

They won't have much of a home field advantage, either. The crowds in that giant stadium are thin.

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - Ring of Black - 09-15-2014 07:54 AM

I can, all but, garuantee that the brunt of those remarks were made before Toledo made their huge comeback.

They just lost their backup QB, Olsen - DUI with fake license. Hits keep coming, apparently his second off field incident this season. Golden's seat is getting hotter.

We don't want Golden losing his job because CTT would be the first target. It might mean divorce but it would worry me. Also the IU job would worry me.

Not sure about either of those jobs...

Miami, if they fire Golden...which I don't see happening after this season, but who knows?...probably goes after a certain type of Offensive minded coach, and I think that's a different type of "Offensive Minded Coach" than Tuberville. Just my opinion, but I don't see TT being at all a good fit for Miami (FL). (In roughly the same ways he wasn't a good fit for Texas Tech...) My guess is that Miami would go for a "splash" hire with NFL connections and/or a "Spread" type offense. I could see them making a run at Rich Rodriguez at Arizona, Lane Kiffin at 'Bama (if Saban doesn't kill him first), or even a Mario Cristobal if they wanted to take a chance at a rehab. I could even see a former NFL type of a coach--Shanihan or Schiano or even Del Rio--being on a short-list for Miami.

As for Indiana (is that the "IU" you reference???)... I don't know that they are in the mood for switching out head coaches again right now. If you fire too many of them too fast, it gets to be a situation nobody really wants to get into. Indiana probably goes the MAC route and looks to hire a MAC coach. Alternately, they could go after Hoke if he's fired at Michigan...that would actually be smart. (Which means they probably wouldn't do it.)

Besides which, all the worrying in the world wouldn't stop it from happening nor help anything in the least.

Relax.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a recycled NFL HC or Assistant at the U.
Especially a former Cane like Chud.

Thanks.

I googled "Chud" and all I got was the classic 80's movie.

I don't think at this stage in his career he going to be looking around much.
IU is pretty far down the big ten ladder. He left a middle of the road Big 12 program to come here.

RE: Miami (FL) Fanbase - Marcus - 09-18-2014 01:44 PM

I'd be surprised if he left for Miami at this point of his career. Granted, he has ties there and coached there a good while in the 80's as their Defensive Coordinator, but I doubt Miami would go after him. I would think they'd want a younger high-ceiling type of guy who can get out there and recruit against the UF's and FSU's of the world.

However, unless UC gets in a P5 conference really soon, I'll always be uneasy about him staying, even at this stage of his career.
