Just to reinforce the title of the thread, that UConn-USF game was probably one of the worst college football games I've seen in years. Much better stuff happening in the GCL on a Friday night.

Please no MAC schools to the AAC.
Oh and I am sure the rain had plenty to do with the USF UCONN being bad.

Come on that's a cop out. Uconn has been struggling for a long time now. They lost to directional Michigan MAC school not 3 seasons ago. Uconn is on par with rankings 90-110 of 124. USF is 88-108 range. Get my drift?

UCONN hasn't been good since Edsall was there. Under him they at least were solid to good most years and you could count on a grind it out, smash mouth type game.

Nothing against Toledo but they are way they belong, in the MAC.

RE: Oh boy, this league is worse than I feared
The rain had little to do with how bad that game sucked. I stand by my concerns in starting this thread, whining as it may be, we have got to get out of this league to keep growing. UC football and basketball deserve a better league. SUV is paked and heading to lot D to tailgate. Buffalo? Meh...
Good post, Toledo. If Toledo came into a conference like the AAC, they'd enjoy a nice spike in attendance (which is already decent) and would be able to compete immediately. Buffalo has strong academic chops, but really brings little else.
Buffalo led the MAC in attendance last year and was leading going into this week...

ECU looks like the class of this conference. 70 points and over 700 yds against UNC. We'll have to play our best to have a chance.

The also gave up 41 points. Who knows what UC will look like in November. Right now the Cats are behind everyone else due to the schedule. I still believe Miami-OH was the ultimate trap game.

Agree. It is a trap game every year. Miami plays out of their head every year against UC. Give it to them, last night. They played a heck of a game. We played lights out bad, and still won the game. From the first kickoff and field position to the 7 third and longs that Miami converted, it was Miami's night. We somehow won? OSU will see a better team.

Every year is a bit of a stretch considering our average win in this streak has been in the high 20s. But I do buy into the idea that we were ripe for a letdown this week between the season opener and the OSU game. That said if McKay catches those balls were talking about another 20+ point win.
Keep in mind Hendrix is a local kid who probably grew up dreaming of playing at PBS. The ""it's their Super Bowl" angle gets over played but in Hendrix's case it's more true than usual.

Please explain how, the thinking around football people is that a team improves the most from the 1st to the 2nd game, this team is what it now is, a very good QB and a Very good receiving corp and very little else on either side of the ball. Not even sure about coaching staff anymore, are you.

No ledge, they simply are not that good, just a realist. Everybody wants to say it's going to be ok, but nobody wants to explain how. I hope they win, but I think there are going to be a lot of losses in the future.

How many is a lot? I'd be stunned with anything worse than 8-4. And 10 wins is very much possible.

I think the mental side of the sport is as great or greater than the physical side. We were not focused on the Redhawks. Balls were dropped, bad passes were thrown, stupid defensive lapses were allowed. I bet Tubs was not even focused on the Redhawks. We were a 28 point favorite and he has his old SEC buddy, Urban on deck. It would not even surprise me if the staff broke down some OSU game film last week. It was a trap game and we survived, and I think we play better against OSU. We will be razor focused on OSU. Hopefully no letdown against Memphis.
