Well, I guess it's about time for this.

College Station is a lot closer to our home base than South Bend. And we had a good turn out for the ND trip. Here's hoping we represent well in Aggieland.

Last time I checked, the "line" for the game had opened at 29 and now had drifted to 31 1/2. The home team favored, of course.

So let us know where you'll be on Saturday. And go out on a limb and predict the score.

I'll be at the tailgate and at the game. Rice end zone section, as usual. We will have three Rice supporters and a stray Aggie in our group.

The Owls will play an inspired game. But fall 48-27

I don't know that I've ever predicted a Rice loss in a score prediction, as I prefer to keep my optimism at least until the game starts. But A&M beating South Carolina, who should at least be a decent SEC team, by 24 is quite scary. And past Bailiff/Sumlin matchups where Sumlin had a good QB haven't gone well for the Owls. I do think the game is winnable, that's why they play them, but Rice needs to force A&M to beat us with the short and medium passes instead of deep bombs, and Rice needs to tackle like never before.

I think Rice is closer at the half than the ND game (and than SC was to A&M at the half). I think Rice does better in special teams coverage. I think Hill throws one Callahan's way that A&M regrets. I think DJ continues to look good and Stehling gets some 4th quarter time and looks good. And we leave the game feeling OK, knowing that A&M is a top-10 caliber team and that Rice isn't quite on that level.

I think it turns out that Notre Dame was better than we thought...particularly Golson. Their dismantling of (unranked, but still) Michigan shows that. Maybe a top 10 team. But, I think A&M is better than Notre Dame. I think we improve a bit, but I'd say 45-21.

May make the trip - no Rice people I know seems willing to go along though. :(

I don't feel comfortable predicting this weekend's score, but I'll definitely be there with a handful of other alumni friends.

aTm defense is not up to ND standards. The offense is much better. Ags 45-27. I hope to be there, but sitting with aTm alums in their seats.

Rice 49 Ags 45. Ags get repaid for knocking out Rice in their home regional last baseball season.

Well- I applaud everyone for 'keeping it real'. If I thought the score was going to be what some of these predictions are, I'm not sure I'd watch it. So, in the interest of remaining positive and hopeful, I predict Rice pulls of the upset of the year 44-41 and Aggies proceed to cut down trees all over the city.

Uh, let's not forget that in 2011, Purdue finished 7-6, including 4-4 in the Big 10. Doesn't do anyone any good to sell that victory short. One of those ones that looked better by the end of the year (much like I suspect Rice's loss to Notre Dame this year will look).
