Amazing how he set so many single game and season records! And he was essentially run off in my opinion!
Did he set the interceptions record? 16 is definitely not an alarming number or anything.
Who threw 16 interceptions?

Birdsong has 16 career interceptions at JMU. The 15 from last year, plus this one:

I don't see anyone obsessed with Vad Lee. It is not obsession to talk about the starting damn quarterback of the football team. It might be obsession to keep crying over the one that is not here anymore.
Its not obsession. Its all the GD hype that we heard as soon as it was announced he was coming and then even more so after the Spring game. After the Spring game we had countless posts on here hyping Lee, talking about how good he was going to be and how he was going to dominate the CAA, etc. All I've seen is a QB who has been sub par with his decision making at running the read option and hasn't appeared nearly as fast and quick for someone who was the starting QB for a triple option BCS team. Even when he had no pressure vs MD many of his passes were way off, and against Lehigh with good snaps, time to throw, a lot of his passes were way off.

So far, he looks too damn slow for anyone to have worry about his legs beating them.
So if you are looking for a Braxton Miller type QB, he was 58% accurate 2 years ago and then 63% accurate last year.
I'd take that IF Vad Lee runs for 700 yards as well.
At a 49% accuracy rate he needs to run for 1,500 yards.
Yep. In terms of passing % and net rushing yards (which includes sacks) look at Thorpe's #s
2009' rFr (5 starts) 56.6% rate
2010 DNP after 1st game
2011' rJr, (8 games/starts) 59%. Avg 48 yds a game rushing Over 12 games that = 576 yds)..
2012' rSr, (10 games played, 9 starts) 62%, 799 yds rushing (10 games played, 9 starts)
And we certainly need Lee to be better than Thorpe.

Thorpe was not accurate and only somewhat fast, not quick feet out of the pocket.
Landers was not an accurate passer, but had quick feet and ran fast and like a running back.
Rascati was very accurate was not quick or fast but used his athletic ability to hurt teams with runs...at best he is the model you want at QB.

Rascati was my Rocky, you could knock the hell out of him and he'd get back up an run for 10 yards the next play, or just before you clobbered him, he's have released the ball for a TD.
Landers was Superman both on and off the field. People looked up to him. He may not have been spot on with accuracy, but knew how to put a touch on the ball. He didn't just fire it into a crowd with reckless abandon. He understood the game of football and was deceptive.

Vad's second half stats on the road, a come from behind win. Our first road win since early November of 2012. Against a tough team.
2 rushes for 37 yards
10-14 passes for 129 yards
3 touchdown drives out of 4
I will take it. Looking forward to the home opener.

Let's be honest. Lehigh ' s defense was not good, is not good, and won't be good.
CAA defenses will be much better.

Let's be honest. Lee wasn't a good passer at Ga Tech, he won't be a good passer at JMU. Run, run, run.

Yep. Of the 11 I-AA teams JMU faces, Lehigh will likely be one of the worst defenses. STFU should be worse, but that might be it.
Conversely Lehigh could also be one of the better I-AA offenses will face. Not as good as VU, probably not as good as UR, but definitely in the top 1/2 of those 11.
Their game with UNH should be a combined in the 70s-80s points wise shot with UNH winning by a couple of scores..

Let's be honest. Since 2009, there have been plenty of games where we have scored 0,3 or 7 points in the second half and lost. Lehigh beat New Hampshore last year which we have not done in years. I am being honest, Lee's second half performance was clutch and makes me optimistic about the season.

Agreed. My hope is that we will continue to use these early games to continuously build ourselves up in time to perform well against the stronger CAA teams. Like many of you, I saw improvement last week, both in regards to our game against Maryland and between the 1st and 2nd half against Lehigh. I hope these trends continue over the next few weeks. If so, I think we'll have a chance to be good this season.

The halftime adjustments and 2nd half improvement was something I was very pleased to see in the Lehigh game. I am speaking in generalities here (I am sure someone will toss out 1 or 2 specific examples to the contrary) but particulary in CAA games in recent past seasons our 2nd half play has been disappointing. I appeared that other teams effectively made halftime adjustments whereas JMU did not do a good job with halftime adjustments.

EW had 20 extra minutes to resolve those issues against Lehigh. This had to benefit our coaches.

Fair enough, but so did the Lehigh staff. The staff still did a great job making the needed adjustments.

The difference being that they had been dominating us. They didn't need to make changes.
I can only relate it to my NASCAR days. When you were leading a race, and your lap times were faster than all others, you think, "we got this thing if we will just keep doing what we've been doing," then about half way through the race, there are 3 or 4 other cars running the same lap times or faster than you are. What happened? They were making adjustments because they were getting beat. You didn't have anyone faster to try to catch, and you were afraid to change what had been working. Maybe its not the same, Hot Rod will tell me that I cannot compare the two. Sorry HR, had to get a dig in.

The last several posts remind me very much of the 2012 game w/ ODU. We were controlling the game up 21-10 at half. Second half, adjustments were made by ODU (still not sure what the heck we did) and it was a completely different game.
