Yes, the cops saw it. The prosecutor let him off easy because he was a black athlete. The cops thought that the NFL would do all the punishment necessary. The system did not melt out equal justice for all. It failed. As with all cases, the attempted murder charge would have been pled down to a lesser offence.

If Rice is charged with a crime...so should his wife. Both of them are examples of violent behavior.

I thought that the (who saw the elevator footage)grand jury said they wanted a felony but the state pled it down to a misdemeanor. Was this another case of overcharging?

Unfortunately this is typical in abuse situations. The victim is usually dependent on the abuser for support and in a twisted way they blame themselves for the attack. They attack those that go after the abuser. Then sadly many live in the abusive situation and sometimes that is a fatal decision. Really sad. The NFL and the Baltimore Ravens need to reach out and help this woman..
