The following week Temple will host Delaware State. This should be an easy game for Temple. DSU is a small school but less than two hours from the stadium. Maybe we get another 28k. Temple has got to do something about the box office and the long lines to enter the gates. It was 94 degrees in Philly yesterday. That's 28k dedicated fans that watched the game in the intense heat ...
Definitely see Temple sitting at 3-1. 04-cheers

Incorrect...as I believe Tulsa season tix holders didn't have to pay $90 for the game nor did Tulsa students.

Single game tix were $90 (many OU fans bought those) but not all 29,000 in attendance had to buy a $90 tix (let alone those tix owned by the Univ, Athletic Dept, Football Dept, etc...).

Don't assume everyone that is counted in attendance has to buy a tix at the highest price (or even has to buy a tix, period).

I know all teams fudge attendance numbers but you have to ask yourself what is the science between numbers reported and actual numbers. I have this picture in my head of some 20something guy in a SNL type skit throwing out attendance numbers.

Thanks...for a second I thought it was mistakenly posted in the wrong thread.

No clue what would be wrong with posting attendance numbers in an attendance thread, especially when it comes from USF's beat writer for the Times.

With all due respect, sir. Why do you find it your job to post this every week? Everyone knows butts in seats is less than announced pretty much everywhere, despite what some uneducated posters say. Most stadiums on campus don't announce actuals. This is well documented. Frankly I don't care how many actual bodies attended UCF or any other AAC school.

KL we go back many years you can try fooling some of the newbies on this board but I know your game very well.
Try posting ALL the actual attendances for all the AAC schools.

All I care about is how it looks on TV. We are all trying to sell this package as fans of American Conference schools. While we can all dream of P5 invitations, fact is I doubt it happens for any of us.

I actually have no problem with announcing either actual or announced, as long as it's consistent across board for apples to apples comparison. Since most don't announce BIS, then apples to apples is announced.

Last week, the thought was Western Carolina was the culpit.

Maryland is not Western Carolina. Maryland is P5. We get so very precious few home games against P5 schools that we have to make the most of them. Every one of those games is almost like an audition for any school aspiring to move up.

So I don't understand how USF draws 18.1K actual fans for Maryland.

Kickoff for next week's game against SELA is 7pm New Orleans time. That will make the heat a little more bearable.

I wasn't at Yulman yesterday (dammit!) but what I have heard from many people is that the place was packed -- but people who could slip inside for the air-conditioning took advantage of the opportunity…

Sorry but even discounted ticket prices were maybe a little less to season ticket holders but still much higher than any other single game ticket in the AAC. Not sure about students but there weren't that many students attending. My point is the games revenue far exceeded the rest of the games Saturday and much more so than Houston's at ECU TD.

so basically this game was a pressure release value for OU fans to be able to purchase tickets to see their team play in the state of OK at probably not much higher single game ticket price than they would pay if they where able to purchase tickets at OU... good job capitalizing on OU fanbase.
