Hope us and App both go undefeated the next couple weeks coming into this contest and contingencies have to be figured out. That would be epic.

Small sample size and all but I've talked to a bunch of people who are coming down. My 3 tickets are being used (instead of myself/ wife/ kid it'll be myself/ two friends)
So I think it'll be a pretty good showing. You know the students will be there.
Now once the novelty of a thursday night game wears off that will start to effect attendance.

I would bet $100 versus a pack of bubble gum we won't have that many for a Thursday night game. Our Atlanta fan contingent won't make it to that game, and App fans don't travel to our stadium for Saturday games.
I think you will be surprised at how many people come out of the woodwork and travel to that game, myself included. I haven't seen a game at Paulson in 9 years. Looking at the available tickets, that game is nearly sold out now.
Now, I agree we won't have 30k and even if there is demand, they shouldn't open it up. Let it sell out.

RE: The Dreaded Attendance Thread
I hope and think the students will show up big for Thursday night vs. App, but I do worry about people who normally travel to games and those with kids in school deciding to stay home and watch on TV. I'm also a little more worried about the Troy game because the big-time rivalry factor isn't there, but the Thurs night challenges are.

It's a shame the game isn't next week and would line up with most ATL school's fall break... or maybe that would be worse.

Here are the current season to date figures. The number in parenthesis is the number of home games played:
30,889 - Louisiana Lafayete (2)
26,143 - Arkansas State (1)
25,861 - Appalachian State (1)
23,121 - Georgia Southern (1)
21,331 - Troy (1)
18,849 - Louisiana Monroe (2)
17,813 - Texas State (1)
13,772 - New Mexico State (1)
10,133 - Georgia State (2)
Conference average: 20,879
No home games yet: USA, Idaho
I expect 30k+ for the App game. Either that, or I'm completely wrong and nobody shows up because we can actually watch ourselves on TV...
Not realistic for a Thursday game. A lot ATL area fans with kids will not be there. I think anything over 20 would be great. I have yet to see G5 weekday games really match Sat attendance numbers.

Upset that we only had that many against duke, especially since the fact they started selling alcoholic beverages

Wait till this week when we play ACU... Might be looking at 15k
It is band day so the band people will add 3 or 4k so that might bump it to 18k

I'm actually a student here. I'm sure fans are tired of making trips to see us lose. Smh.

It's true... But that's true for any program in the country... Things will change soon.

Eastern Michigan. Every other year they sell tens of thousands of tickets to Pepsi for $3 each just to meet FBS attendance requirements. They averaged right at 4,000 a game last year.

That's also the school located like 5 miles from Michigan Stadium. Imagine trying to get a crowd on the same day as a Penn State game or Ohio State game.

RE: The Dreaded Attendance Thread
I wonder with as tight as the MAC is, that it is actually cheaper for EMU to be in the MAC, travel wise, then it would be to drop to an FCS conference.
When is the last time any of the directional Michigan schools made a bowl, have they ever???

Don't feel bad. UNT started selling alcohol and had crosstown rival SMU on a Saturday and drew 22K.
